Looks like you're building a bigger garage than the old one. What are your dimensions? I like the offset door, and am doing something similar with my current garage build.

Keep the pictures coming as it looks like a nice project. Also, what kind of fun things do you plan to do in that garage?

I don't like removing tree stumps... but it's a necessary evil. Good luck and lets see some more images when you have time.

I will post more pictures when there is more work. Remember I live in Ohio the rainforest above the equator.
I did get good news today, my permit was approved and ready to be picked up.

Some progress made yesterday and today.

The city let me use the old rear foundation/footer seeing that it is 4 feet deep and I only need to be 32.

So they just pinned it. Now it’s waiting for an inspection.

Anyone know where I can get a good deal on trusses in Columbus, Ohio?

I'm in Columbus too. I ended up getting all of my materials including trusses from Lowes. I can't say that it was totally painless, but then again most of my stuff was special order and I'm pretty picky. But, I did pit Lowes and Home Depot against each other and ended up getting some good prices. The trusses actually came from Cardinal Truss in Lockboure, OH. For simple stuff, either big box will probably give you a quote while you wait so you at least have a ball park to start from.

If you have a pretty standard size and pitch, I noticed that Menards actually has some gable trusses in stock.

Looks like you are almost in the dry. That is a land mark day in any building project larg or small. From now on you can work inside when it rains. You are going to be a happy camper.

Nice job on the garage so far. Consider yourself lucky that the weather has been cooperating this winter. It could be like last winter and have snow ******* deep :eyecrazy: You'll have that garage done before you know it, now that you have the worst behind you. It seems that once the roof goes on the rest goes fairly smooth.

As far as the mowers, don't sell them too cheap. The older reel type with the engines on them bring pretty good money. Sharpened correctly, they will do a better job on a yard than any modern style mower. They actually cut instead of beating the grass off. If I had a smaller yard, I'd be all over one of those

BTW......a late Welcome to the GJ. I'm not too far from you in Urbana. Quite a few people from Ohio on here and quite a few from Columbus.
