Nice job on the garage so far. Consider yourself lucky that the weather has been cooperating this winter. It could be like last winter and have snow ******* deep :eyecrazy: You'll have that garage done before you know it, now that you have the worst behind you. It seems that once the roof goes on the rest goes fairly smooth.

As far as the mowers, don't sell them too cheap. The older reel type with the engines on them bring pretty good money. Sharpened correctly, they will do a better job on a yard than any modern style mower. They actually cut instead of beating the grass off. If I had a smaller yard, I'd be all over one of those

BTW......a late Welcome to the GJ. I'm not too far from you in Urbana. Quite a few people from Ohio on here and quite a few from Columbus.

Thanks and I feel right at home here on GJ not that I have a garage.

I don’t plan on selling them for nothing I made extensions so I can cut at a higher height I just don’t have room for them.
I have a 8x12 shed with a 5x6 compressor room off of it but it gets cold in the winter and it is too loud for the neighbors.
So I could move them in there and move the compressor to the garage. The problem with that I have to make room for my 61 Lincoln project my 2006 Yamaha fz6 delta unisaw, shaper, router table miter center planer jointer powedercoat oven, dust collection Vertical mill, meta lathe, wood lathe and the kitchen sink. So something has to go.

Your build is looking great! It must be exciting to be getting a brand new garage to play in.

I'm watching this to see how it turns out. Like the Lincoln too, I had a '63 for many years until a stupid drunk decided he could drive over me with his 4x4. Oh well.

Looks great, I'm watching your fun!

Mm

It has been fun, the old one was not only too small but just too far gone to want to do anything other then tear down. It is a shame that I will be out of money when I am done. So I will be taking it slow on the projects. The good thing is I have a ton of restored parts ready to go on the Lincoln .

Here is the garage door part I am unsure what to do. The guy at the door sales said cut a chunk of the block out, and someone else said build out the opening.

So I have a question for all that have a garage about this size (26x18)
What would a contractor charge? I want to make sure I insure it properly.
Because after doing all this work myself, I am way too tire to do it again if something happens.

Nice work Bob! You will be so stoked when you get finished!

I know right. I was over at my aunts last night, and I filed my wife’s Honda Odyssey. I love that van, it has more room then my old f150 screw.
I got two more of the 30” high cabinets, and 5 more of the 15” high ones. Plus some cool old tools from the 50s and some blocks of wood for turning.
I can’t wait till I can use the garage.

This is the way to start a weekend.
34 sheets of 1/2” OSB and 3 sheets of 5/8” for the attic.

Found another use for bungee cords. Fun times installing the attic ladder by myself.

So as some of you will know that projects never go as planed.
I have the inside all finished off and got a nice piece of carpet to make it more man cave like and have been working on the soffits and siding.
Now for the reason why there is no now pics.

I have been given the oppertunity to buy a family members house that it 3.7 times the size of mine, and the is . 5 acre come pared to .17 acre.
The new place was built in 2003. The old place in 1951 and rebuilt by me in 2006.
The new garage it wider then mine, but not as deep, and I have to get my 61 Lincoln in it. But it looks like there is no HOA and the city is nowhere near as **** as Upper Arlington.
I will post some updated pics of the current garage and some of the garage in the new palace
