Pit Bull 6 Inch LCD Digital Caliper with Extra Battery and Case
i got this a while back and it is a great deal imo works great

My price tracker says that is the highest they have been in six months, although on by a few dollars. Nov. 2010 they were $14.50, last time they were more than now.

That said it looks exactly like the set I got from HF IIRC, works good and the battery hasn't died yet.

Sears premium ratchets - OUT OF STOCK again. Sears has to be the worst company ever. I recently signed up for an email notificaiton when these ratchets became available. That was 2 mths ago. Now I see they are on sale, the let you add them to your cart,, then when you go to checkout they say they are out of stock.
These nitwits.

I was on the email list also. I never got one email and three times it was IN and OUT OF STOCK again. I did get lucky and was able to order a set on sale and coupon code "savemore" for a great deal on 3/21/2012 at $113.39 shipped to my local Sears store. It is still on order, but that is OK as I got a killer price and I can wait.:rocker:

That looks like the long handle one I have....if it is, its HORRIBLE. It seems to slip alot, replaced it with another under warranty and that one was just as bad. I have an old long handle MAC one that I use now if I need the extra handle length. Going just on looks though, didn't check the model number of mine.

Stoped by Lowe's today. Walking through the tool section I noticed that the Made in England Stanley Fat Max Chisels weren't in thier normal spot. They had been relocated to the area where the clearance/no longer stocking items are located. I used the price scan app on my smart phone and they were showing about $1 to $1.50 lower than the lowest Amazon price. So, keep an eye out these may be getting discounted even more in the coming weeks.

I have that one. Never had any problems with it and I use it almost every day.

Yep... I've had my eyes on those also... Yesterday they were completely unavailable for sale. Today, you can add to cart, but you cannot check out.

Sears has to be the worst company that is still operating. I don't think it will be around in 5 years.

I'm supposed to start a new job in a few days, and wanted to get them as a sort of "first career" gift to myself, with hopes of eventually passing them down. This is the 2nd time I've tried to order these. I've only ever seen the 1/2" and 3/8" variants in stores, but never the 3-piece set.

@SocketDeviler: not a bad deal for that Wera. Amazon lists one left. I don't need it, so I'll restrain myself. This time :)

I wonder if PB Swiss replacement urethane heads would fit?

Which price scan app do you use? I have a few. Red Laser is probably my most commonly used one.

Lowes in NC the dewalt 18 volt 4 tool combo is $199.99 un-advertised. Includes drill, impact, reciprocating saw, flashlight, 2 batteries, charger, some bits and a tool bag. They are marked at on sale at $299 from $359, but ring up as $199 in NC. They had them on sale but can't raise the prices up after the tornado according to the store employee there who never told me wrong. He thinks this is for all NC lowes, but it's defiantly true for the one in Matthews.

At Menards:

Tool Shop 1/4" Drive Ratchet (stubby) with cushy handle $2.99
-------------
Tool Shop 3/8" Drive Ratchet (stubby) with cushy handle $3.99
-------------
Tool Shop 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" Drive Adapters $1.99 (I think)

my local menards is clearing out some tool shop ratchets, 1/4 3/8 and 1/2 for like 5$ ea, not bad for taiwan lifetime warranty

I own a HF model and a friend has the Pit Bull, so I've had both side by side and have to say they're the same IMO.

You can catch the HF version for as low as $9.99. It's not the smoothest action but mine has been accurate and held up so far.

sounds like he used the Amazon app to compare the Lowes Price to Amazon's price.

At the time i was using Bakodo, it has Amazon as one of the site it pulls from in it's web results. I also have Red Laser, Shop Savy, and one just called Scan (scans all kind of bar code formats).

What are you talking about?

I think he means how the sellers change, especially after Amazon sells out the items they have in stock. So many members scan this thread and jump on deals. I'm lucky if I get 20% of the deals posted here. They go fast.

Germans make great hand tools:rocker:

It's often a strong selling point for me.

The hammer is on its way to me. Been wanting a quality one in this price range for some time. Struck me as a solid deal especially with free shipping. Figured others would feel the same. I've been pleased with all my Wera tools.

Slickdeals would get paid then, not him. Probably grabbed the link (or he posted the deal there) on the Slickdeals website.
