Vintage tool box find x4. Help ID
Went to a swap meet in DFW with my eyes peeled for some old boxes.
Guy said "The one on the left is $40, one on the right is $60 because it has some tools". I contained my excitement, and started looking. Made an offer of $80 for both, and he jumped on it.
I know the one on the bottom right is Snap On, and it was made in '62 from the stamping on the back. I initially thought maybe they were all snap on because they had Snap On stickers on the front, but I figure thats just a dealer since it has contact information.
I don't have a clue what the other three are. At first I thought the one on the bottom left was a Kennedy because of the color, but I found this picture (Link) which just about assures me its a Craftsman. They're identical down the stamped "X" in the floor of the bottom compartment.
Now, that leads me to the believe the the one of the top right (the one on top of the SO box) is its mate, or at least another craftsman because the handles are identical, both stamped, and the both have two raised ridges in the handles. The cover is down in the pics so you cannot see them.
What's weird is the round area for a logo. I don't recall seeing a round craftmans logo. Also, where any old craftmans red? Any idea on the top left one? Maybe Mac?
The tools in the box. There is a Snap-On alternator tester that I didnt even see until I got home. I have no idea how to use it, but I can't wait to learn. Snap On There is a Dwell/tach, a MAC diode tester, and a couple Snap On impact universals, a cornwell, and one no named.
Going off the script on these impacts, and idea on the age?
There are a handful of more sockets, studpuller, and a few wrenches, but these are the nice sockets
Update.
Maybe the round logo box is a Cornwell?
I found the following picture in the vintage toolbox thread and the box is not mine. Drawer layout is the same, carry handles are the same. Different drawer handles and different logo
Mine (its sitting on a different box than in the pictures above. I swapped em around)
