We are about to launch GearWrench Spline ratcheting wrenches and are making one last decision. To distinguish these from regular ratcheting wrenches we're going with gold or silver plating on the gear. You be the judge. Please take a look and vote in the poll above!

While not normally a gold fan, I like it here. It reminds me of the Snap On heavy duty torx or metric hex wrench colorings.

I voted for gold, only because I think it will stand out a bit more.

I also think that it is a great idea to be polling the public on this matter. I wonder, how many people have you pitched this inquiry to? The reason I am asking is because only 10% of the thread viewed resulted in a vote. That is indicative of a large number of guest "lurkers" who do not have voting or othe member priviliges.

If you want many more people to offer their input, you could offer a set of the new wrenches (or something similar) to a lucky voter who also offers a brief comment about what steered their choice.

I own some of gearwrench sets. After use a lot, the black gears become to little silver which it just normal. so my opinion is go with silver so it will not wear the color out after daily use...

That would be my assumption as well, but I'd like to hear it from the source. It might be nice to be able to bend the ear of an offshore manufacturer.

I'd like to suggest that you plate the gear ring hot pink, and package them in colorful Easter baskets. Just a suggestion from your friendly competitor...

In all reality, I cant expect the gearwrench brand wrenches, when they sell them on sale for $35 at sears for an 8 piece set, to be made in the USA. They are one of the few asian made tools in my box, but the quality is very good IMO, and every once in a while I "sell out"!

Im impressed that Mr. Gearwrench brand has been honest and forthcoming, that is a great sign. His communications seem more up front and honest than recent communications from several of the other big tools names in recent discussions (matco, proto)

No, it will not actually be stamped on the product itself, but all of our packaging will have the country of origin on it.
