the real question is... where can you buy them at?
So far, I dont have an answer to that question. I did see that they are not available from the website....

So I'm seeing $53.45 + tax for 5 ratchets vs $44.96 for the 3. Using the SEARS2012 code and hitting the free shipping.
Add in $16.66 and it's either 27.35 per upgraded ratchet or 31.64. Not a bad price, especially if you grab a couple spares.
I guess the $30 question is are the matco 88 internals any good? I have a set of Napa branded ratchets one series off from these gearwrenches and the guts they come with are horrible. Is the matco a quality upgrade or just more clicks?
was this a one or two day sale? today they are up to full price again.
the 88 tooth internals are nice. I just grabbed a 3/8" drive bent handle for the conversion
OK, I called the number on the Matco website. I can buy the 88 repair kits directly from them. Price is $16.66 each. Kinda funny the repair kit is more than the price of some of the ratchets I bought...
Another thing I should not have read on GJ. Now I'm out $54 for Gearwrench ratchets I DON'T NEED!
thanks for the deal!

OK sorry, didn't read the rest of the post.
Now what kit is $16.99?
3/8" 1/4" 1/2"
Do you have there number handy?
ThanksNumber on my quote: 866-286-8665
Part numbers:
1/4 AFR8TK
3/8 BFR8TK
1/2 CFR8TK
All are the same price at 16.66 ea.
I'm waiting for my wrenches to show up before I buy the 88 kits. Something tells me I may get a notice one or more are out of stock. Fingers crossed....
No. Matco has free shipping only on order above $200Thanks
Is shipping included like snap on?
They are fine. Most likely 60 tooth. You probably won't notice much of a difference between the 60t and the 88t. Just my opinion.I guess the question I have is are these GearWrench ratchets any good out of the box or is the Matco 88 tooth conversion needed to really make them a good ratchet?

looks like the Gearwrench sale at Slickdeals is expanding:

Oh, No...
another wave is coming. I have to lock my wallet.
There's a few gems in the second wave, but nothing like the ratchets, imo.
The ratchet/socket sets are pretty nice though. I'd like to try the screwdrivers, but considering i already have over 60 screwdrivers, i'd have to question my sanity if i bought more.

Too late for me...
please quote so I know what your referring too.
are you talking about the line wrenches or the gear wrenches?
I know, I had to pass on these, as I just bought the Craftsman 3 pc low profile ratchets for the $31 deal yesterday.
Sears seems to be blowing out a lot of tools lately.
