I think he stated it in the first post. Something with ordinances I believe that couldn't allow him to go up, air right probably so he went down. Correct me if I'm wrong.

any updates? I freakin love this project.
That's pretty much it. I really wanted to do a nice 2 level outbuilding. Garage on the main floor and a theater/gym/game room on the second level. City wouldn't allow it, so I went down. In the end it was alot more expensive, BUT I did get access to it underground so it truly does become part of the house. And it's nice and cool down there
