I gave in and purchased the harbor freight box everyone raves about. And boy was it ever heavy! It was a pain unloading by myself. But nothing a little engunity couldn't take care of. I'll post more pictures as I get it filled up!

uh ohh looks like the $359 is the one thats good till august. the $349 is good till the 13th of july, 3 days left!! here are both

the coupons show the older style with the matte powdercoat and old model number, but they are for the new gloss 44". the new ones capacity is 2633lbs, including a top box, and two side boxes.

the actual capacities
bottom roller = 818lbs
top box = 704lbs
each side locker = 557lbs
grand total = 2636lbs

they cant even add that up right... both advertised totals are wrong.

there is a packet in one of the smaller drawers that includes the handles, bolts, and a paper that has contact info for replacement parts, and a parts breakdown with part numbers.

Check your caster wheel attaching bolts for tightness when you first get these boxes. I had a few loose ones on the boxes I bought.

Congrats on the new box.I hope to purchase one within the next 2 weeks.I am quickly running out of room.I was thinking about going with a 26" box but decided on the US General 44" box due to the fact I can expand it more and have more available storage space.

I picked mine up today and happy to have it. No issues with wobble or loose bolts and it fit right into the space I had for it. The only complaint I have at this point is the thing smells awful. Maybe its the new paint or something and I'm sure it will air out but right now the garage will give you a headache. Before you ask, I'm not sensitive to smells. My Craftsman basic screwdrivers don't smell bad to me and I hear a lot of people say they cant stand that smell. Overall, very good buy especially when you look at the price. I would rate it above any of the boxes Craftsman sells at double the cost.

Not saying personally I would have outright bought the HF box because of the COO. My bottom box was given to me as a fathers day gift and I did purchase the top box after I couldn't find an American made top box with fitting dementions. I don't even think any of the truck brand boxes have a USA COO. The older flat finish HF 44" box I have was my dads. I do have an older Snap-On box, my first truck brand box was a MAC Tools and in 2003 I had bought a 2 bay Marco box. My favorite was the Marco however besides the COO I have no complaints of the HF 44" boxes I own.

Nice purchase! I bought one last year (maybe longer ago, I can't remember anymore), and added the top box when they had them back in stock. The only downer for me was the dull finish, and they changed to glossy soon after I bought mine. I'm retiring this year, and I'll have more spare time; maybe I'll wet sand mine a bit & repaint it glossy.

If the caster seems like a problem, you should call & complain. Maybe they'll send you a replacement?

I reversed the handle & my casters end-for-end when I got it, due to how & where i was going to park it in my garage. When my sone came to visit a few days later, he suggested a better location in the garage, and now the casters & the handle should really be switched back. Another retirement project.

Some may yak about the quality of these compared to Snap on & the like, but I'm just a home handyman & light-duty car maintenance guy. Even with rolling it around, slamming a drawer occasionally when things aren't going well, these boxes will outlast me, and serve one of my sons well when I pass on to the big garage in the sky.

I have two of the 7 drawer powder coat krinkle finish end cabinets I'm thinking of selling or trading for the high gloss cabinets.

I noticed your drawer configuration is different. Did you swap the larger bottom drawer on the chest for the.smaller ones on the rollaway?
