Maybe they just got sick of him whining! Still, you would have thought he would have ended his career with the Pack. I don't think he is helping his legacy.

Politics, Favre played a game on the Pack, and the Jets won. Bet he only stays there one year, if that long. He wants to go to the Vikings.

If he goes to the Vikings the Packs get 3 first rounders, that won't happen. I give Farve a few more seasons to play. He'sonna be worshipped by jets fan.
Packer Fan i feel your pain, your organization just shot you in the back, stole your car, slept with your wife and kidnapped your kids!

Our local paper (Chicago Tribune) had a full size pic of Farve in a Bears uniform on the cover of the sports section. Anyway, as I walk down the isles at work I still see that pic hanging on a LOT of walls. That would have been awesome! Anyway, the Packers are done. Maybe the Bears will finally beat the Packers this year.

I think the Packers organization played this fair and upright. He retired, they gave him a good send-off which assured his legacy with the Packers, and the organization proceeded to establish a new team.

Then at the last minute Favre wants to rock the boat -- and screw the new team in the process. Sorry, but you had your chance -- quit your whining. The Packers are better off to finally have this circus over with.

They wouldn't have done it for one reason. It isn't really football season without the Bears whining about two or three mediocre quarterbacks and who should be starting after the half-*** performance of the last starter. Between Grossman, Orton, and the rookie they have in camp, it looks like another year of the same old stuff out of Chicago.

Since 2004, the Bears are 6 and 2 against Green Bay. For the Bears to be that consistent is unbelievable.

I agree completely with this.

As for "looking out for the Jets" by the OP....Football is a team sport and the rest of the Jets don't have what it takes to go to the big game. I'd say a wildcard shot at the playoffs at best. Favre will definitely be an asset to the team, that is not in question, but as for the Jets becoming a force to be reckoned with just because of the addition of a quality quarterback....I don't think so.

Look at the Rams, for example. Bulger is a great QB, but with no OL, he gets beat up constantly.

I'm glad to see this whole thing over and done with. I'm not a GB fan, but I did respect what Favre has done in his career. I think he kind of messed up the way alot of NFL fans felt about him because he had a lot of fans that weren't necessarily GB fans, not so much anymore I'm thinking....

Let the beatings begin.......GO SEAHAWKS!!!!!!!! (OK, no Seahawk flaming allowed in this thread:lol_hitti :D )

As a life long Viking fan I am so happy that Farve ended up with the Jets and not the Vikings that I about shed tears of joy when I heard the news of his trade. He is and always has been totally consumed worrying about himself. He has always put his own interests ahead of the rest of the team as shown by this latest tantrum. He retires, decides to come back because of his love for the game. The Packers, who have grown fed up with him stringing them along as to whether or not he still wants to play after every season, say enough is enough. The Packers tell Favre that they don't want him back but will pay him $20 million to stay retired so as to avoid the embarassment of having to deal with the cry baby. Farve, who only wants to play the game, hears of the millions and was to take some time to think about the offer. Obviously his "love of the game" has a price tag. What a loser.

I totally agree. What I find amazing is that Favre hasn't had better advice throughout this whole circus. He made way too much of this public...embarassing himself and the Packers...and is the main party responsible for making this a circus. I've followed Favre his whole career...and never realized he had such a monumental ego.

He thinks he won...but he'll be sorry. The Jets are mediocre at best and play in a tough division. I don't see the Jets doing better than 8-8 best case scenario. What's the point of coming out of retirement for that? :headscrat
