I think the Packers organization played this fair and upright. He retired, they gave him a good send-off which assured his legacy with the Packers, and the organization proceeded to establish a new team.
Then at the last minute Favre wants to rock the boat -- and screw the new team in the process. Sorry, but you had your chance -- quit your whining. The Packers are better off to finally have this circus over with.
I agree completely with this.
As for "looking out for the Jets" by the OP....Football is a team sport and the rest of the Jets don't have what it takes to go to the big game. I'd say a wildcard shot at the playoffs at best. Favre will definitely be an asset to the team, that is not in question, but as for the Jets becoming a force to be reckoned with just because of the addition of a quality quarterback....I don't think so.
Look at the Rams, for example. Bulger is a great QB, but with no OL, he gets beat up constantly.
I'm glad to see this whole thing over and done with. I'm not a GB fan, but I did respect what Favre has done in his career. I think he kind of messed up the way alot of NFL fans felt about him because he had a lot of fans that weren't necessarily GB fans, not so much anymore I'm thinking....
Let the beatings begin.......GO SEAHAWKS!!!!!!!!

(OK, no Seahawk flaming allowed in this thread

)
