EDIT: Looks like the pump is a CH VT2030, dunno if that is a good thing or a bad thing.
I just snagged this on CL earlier today, it is by far my best catch so far there.
I have serious need of a compressor, but I'm also on a serious budget at the moment. I was seriously in the territory of the dreaded "screeching pancake" I've been scanning for months for something both decent and cheap.
I peeled the big promo label, it was cracked and ugly. I included a picture just for reference. I plan on removing the other non-safety/non-spec labels, as they are pretty much shot as well.
I thought I was lucky enough to get a 100% USA made compressor, but it turns out the motor is Emerson, a Mexico made model. Either way, it is thermally protected, and appears to be of good quality. The pump has "Made in USA" in huge letters right on the side of the crankcase, so I was hoping that to be a good sign.
I'm hoping someone could help me figure out the the OEM of the pump.
This thing builds pressure very quickly, and is possibly the quietest compressor I've ever heard personally. I've been around quite a few old "thumpers", as well.
I haven't leak checked it yet, but so far it seems like a great running unit. The only known thing "wrong" with it, is that he lost the original plug to the side (had second regulator hooked up), and the breather cap is missing. He stuck in a vented sprinkler cap just to keep dust out.
