Thanks guys, I got the plans from a very nice guy on weldingweb who made one with a gas motor.

My daughter is 8 so I modified it to electric, I used a scooter controller, scooter motor, scooter disc brakes(all from tncscooters.com) and 3 12v AGM batteries from ebay.

the sprocket was from mcmaster

here is a shoot under the body.

here is the hall throttle box that i got on ebay and moddified to use with a bicycle brake cable. its normally used for Electric Car conversions.

Hey everyone,

This is my very small contribution to this thread. Was spending some time in the garage today and decided to whip up a holder to secure my Argon bottle in the back of my truck when its being transported. I wanted something that would not be a pain in the *** to use and make it harder for a thief to steal if I made some stops along the way. It cannot be unbolted from the truck while the bottle is in place and I thought it would be doubtful that someone carried an allen key for a 3/4" set screw in their pocket. It still needs a few coats of paint!

I also tossed in a weld shot, seems to be a must if you post in this thread. I am very humbled by some of the welds in this thread and hope to reach that skill level. Practice, practice, practice.

This is half the reason I even bought a welder. Seems most fabbed products in the offroad motorsport are 50% materials 50% labor/overhead. With Jeep bumpers it's more like 25%-75%. I'm sure not but that is my perception.

A $650 ARB bull bar on my $600 ZJ... no.

Great looking work. What do you have in the materials if you don't mind?

I feel the same way. I bought enough 2x4 tubing to do a front bumper too. I'm about $200 including the monster spindle I bought. The spindle and latch were about $75.

Here is my e-wheel I have been working on . The anvils, adjuster and lower cradle are from hoosier profiles. They make real nice stuff.
I wanted a bench model so it has a 21" throat. It is made of 4x4x 1/4". The lower tool arm and adjuster is removeable.
This is a copy of a design from all metalshaping. It is pretty cool. I only wheeled a little piece in it ,but it seems to work well.

Very Nice! Your more trusting of that vise than I would be though. :)

Nice build. The Hoosier stuff is super nice but I'm too cheap pay for it.

Base for my drill press

Heres the drill press, I made leveling feet for the base also, just barely visible in the photo

Some stock racks, I have three more of these to mount, in storage with the rest of my stuff after the divorce

Grinder/Sander stand, built this about 15 years ago for just the grinder, then came into the sander for free, just needed a couple bearings. So I revamped the stand with a new larger top made of plywood wrapped with sheet metal, and added some shelf rails for adjustable shelves inside, and added a door also.

Parts washer, made from 16 gage, had a local shop break the "tub" into a "U" shape, and shear the ends, I welded it all together. They broke the edges on the top also. It has a coolant pump in the bottom of the tub with a spin on fuel filter, and I made a manifold so you can use just the fluid, or a brush with fluid going through it. I used Loc Line for the lines. I also made the switch box for the lighted switch.

Love the bender, is that a "got trikes" design? Will it go 90 degrees in one shot? Looks great!

bingo. with the 120-degree die i have, it bends to about 70 degrees in one pass. i have to reset to bend more than that. it's just the way the design is using that particular ram.

So a longer ram is needed to bend 90 in one shot?

from the look of the swingarm's position, i don't know how much more bend you can get out of a longer ram. you may squeeze a few more degrees. it's the nature of his design. doesn't bother me since resetting the die is quick.

Those are some damn good welds!

Thank you. I'm by no means a welder/fabricator yet for only being in the trade for about 3 years but I take pride in my new craft. I have a few more pics of some of my other junk if you guys would like to see it.

I recently started a new job with a company that dose structural steel fabrication and I'm now in the process of furthering knowledge for my Craft.

I'm currently in the process of trying to rat hole some money to wire my little one car garage and pour a concrete floor for a small little weld shop. Hoping to be able to get a new Dynasty 350 and really start learning how to tig weld.

Okay, I'll show this for fun. Made it in auto body class last night using their scrap. I gave it to the wife (who has the same first/last initial) and told it was for her desk at work. Here it is in use!

I told her to make sure no one cut themselves on it!

Peticus,
Nice grill, similar to the one I made 5 years ago.
It's all stainless including the wagon wheels. Painted it black to give it a uniformed color since stainless will turn gold at hot spots. I also made a cover out of some pit liner just for protection since it sits out doors all the time.
The platform is out of 3/4" stainless tubing that comes apart and lays down for the cover.
The burner on the side was designed to be a smoker but I have not done that yet.
