Amazon had a crazy good deal on a Bosch 12V drill and L-Boxx combo on Black Friday and a couple of days after. The 2-battery drill kit + 2 L-Boxxes for $95.

http://toolguyd.com/doorbuster-bosch-12v-drill-two-l-boxxes-combo-2012/

The price has shot back up to $199 last night, which is a little less than what the 2 L-Boxxes and drill kit usually go for separately.

There's going to be a lightning deal in less than a half hour at 7:30pm ET. The price will possibly be $95 again, maybe not. I'll be away from a computer so I won't be able to check.

Just to confirm, it comes with 2 12V batteries, not 1 as the description says.

Definitely a hot deal!

I already received mine from the BF order... all my 12v pieces fit into one LBoxx pretty good; just had to take out the right side tray. Still have no idea what i'm going to do with the second LBoxx yet!

Must have taken a few minutes on my end.

It's somewhat hard to find.

I found it on the Gift Ideas page in the tools/home improvement section... lightning deals are about halfway down the page. You have to add it to cart there, if you click through the price is still $199.

Model number is PS31-2AL1A

Make sure you don't order PS31-2AL by accident. PS31-2AL1A includes PS31-2AL plus another L-Boxx, if that makes sense.

This seems to be an Amazon-exclusive deal, but other retailers might offer the deal later in the season. Dunno.

Hey, you said you were going to be away from the computer. Get back to work, ya bum!

Thanks for the deal, BTW, and keep up the great work.

I'm back temporarily.

What I meant was that I was posting 30-minutes ahead of time with uncertainty about price b/c I wouldn't be able to check and post/report back when deal went live. Didn't know if this is the type of deal to go really quick or not.

In for one.

I've never done a Lightning Deal so i was a bit surprised that what you see is 199 in the cart. You will also see a promotional credit under payment methods. The net effect is 94.99 plus tax.

I have no use for the boxes. PM me after my order arrives (probably a week or so).

Yes, the winner should have received them already. Someone from GJ won an additional prize package that I've been late to put together but am sending out this week.

Stuey,
Thanks for the battery update!! I'm in!!

Yup, deals' up again for another 50 minutes.

I have a feeling they'll do this a couple of times throughout the holiday season until they sell out.

If anyone wants to part with their boxes for less than Amazon is charging, I may actually be buying some more, they are incredibly well-built.

I'm so tempted to get another set, but L-Boxxes by themselves are about $20 cheaper after $25 instant coupon. So I guess I need to decide if I want another PS31 kit for $20 or not,

Where can you buy the accessories for the inside of the boxes? I grabbed this deal on amazon, but none of the places I usually buy stuff from sell the anything but the boxes. Ohio Tool was the only place that I found online.

The pre-formed tool inserts seem really cheap in quality, they remind me of the stuff they put in chocolate boxes. I actually thought for a quick second that they were to be thrown away until I saw them as a separate item on the product lineup card.

I like the box with the organizers though and I really want to grab a few more boxes and foam.

The driver is awesome. I didn't realize how much I needed a smaller screw gun. Good impulse buy overall.

Tempting but I already have the drill and I just bought the hammer drill. I still considered it, but I really do NOT need this! :(

I am thinking the l-boxxes are not necessary for me as well. I have a large toolbox I am take the drill and a couple batteries with me along with all my other common tools, otherwise everything is storage.

I just grabbed one. I have a L-Boxx that came with my MX-30 multi tool and love it. Thanks.

Accessories are on the way to the market this month, but probably won't be available until early 2013. Custom inserts won't be release for a while.

Does it still come with 2 batteries as opposed to the 1 described?

My inlaws bought this set for me as a Christmas present so I'm a few weeks away from getting to take a look at the insert. I'm thinking the insert trays are pretty weak / likely to be broken after moderate use so I'm looking for an alternative. I have 2 other empty L-Boxxes to organize too. One gets my drywall screwdriver, Rotozip, screwdriver bits and Rotozip cutting bits. The other box gets the rest of my Bosch 12v cordless tools (impact, driver, saw), charger, related accessories and batteries.

Kaizen Foam by Fastcap looks interesting for custom inserts. I've seen mixed reviews of it on a couple of websites so I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with it?

Stuey - you mentioned that custom inserts are coming in 2013. Any word on Bosch offering an expanded lineup of Sortimo's standard accessories that are available in Europe through their regular retail channels?

Since Sortimo makes these boxes for Bosch, I've tried contacting Sortimo's US distributor in Atlanta but no response after a couple of attempts. It looks like Sortimo and Bosch have a new distribution agreement with Knapheide truck bodies so maybe I need to talk to a local truck body dealer about ordering some boxes and accessories. Bosch / Sortimo / Knapheide press release.

Great deal. I bought three sets, then sold the drills (with 2 batteries and a charger each) on Amazon for $88 each. After Amazon's split and the shipping, the 6 Lboxxes I'm keeping worked out to about $7.50 each.

It's a slow process, but I think Bosch will eventually bring additional Sortimo storage and organizational products to the USA. I've been told different things by different people familiar with the arrangement.

The blow molded inserts aren't super strong, but they don't feel exceptionally weak to me.

I believe the LBOXX 2 comes with a foam insert that you can cut to custom fit your tools. Short of that, they have plastic inserts available across the pond. I'm not aware of any in the US

Not anymore. I purchased a couple of new boxes and they came without foam. Bosch sent over some samples and they too were without foam. Separate inserts are said to be available for purchase later this month.

I'm not seeing it. Got a link?

Different ways to get to it, but you have to add it to cart in the "lightning deals" section of their holiday sales pages.
