That is really an awesome project and the fact that you are doing it yourself with limited experience is commendable to say the least. Good job so far.

Great build, nice work. I really respect guys who have the initiative to take on a job like you have.
Where did you get your trusses? Do you mind me asking how much for each?
I am in the planning stages (building mine in 2009-2010) and I am hoping the budget allows for a loft like yours, it is sweet.
PS - I am from the interior of BC and don't envy the mud you have been dealing with.

What are you doing for stairs to the loft? I'm building a similar garage with a loft, and haven't quite figured how to get a full sized staircase up there.
I see your trusses are evenly spaced. My truss company recommended moving one truss over to accommodate a staircase. But we weren't keen on that idea.

Great Build. You may have stated earlier, but how tall is your garage?
Thanks,
Brian

How much space do you have at the top of your stairs to the stem wall? How tall is your ceiling in the garage?
Just curious as I am in the design phase of a 28 x 32 garage with very similar design.
Where did you buy your plans for this garage?
DIY'R here also but have father-in-law that is a contractor and plenty of "free" help to set the heavy stuff.![]()
Any updates?

thank you for taking the time to post. This is EXACTLY the garage I plan on building next year except 26x36. I plan on permitting it just for storage upstairs, but might turn it into an office/guest quarters
Any updates?
Should be ready to paint by next weekend. Heres some before and after pics...
Great job on your garage 67restoproj ! ! ! it always feels great to see others going through the motion, it gives me hope as I am in the starting phase of the demo of my old garage, it should be completely gone by the end of next week, after that, we start the new one ! ! ! 20'x40' on two floors + 12'x22' attached also on 2 floors. The loft idea is great I might do that on the second floor of the 12'x22'. I am planning on starting a post soon ... Keep the pictures going, it is always helpful for the new guys ...
Thanks

I like this a LOT and am hoping to do a similiar size.....but I need at least a 12' ceiling on the lower level so it may be too tall by the time I am done.
Great Job, I am afraid to ask what the total project cost was? Post it if you don't mind.
Double that
