I'm more disconnected from the automotive industry now than I used to be so I fully depend on other people's experiences to help me decide which tools are and aren't worth buying. I've found out about some great tools by reading along on GJ. Gave the GearWrench ratchets a shot (pre-china). Found out that Snap-on's CDI brand made excellent torque wrenches. Found out that the old Snap-On screw drivers can be had under the Williams logo (very similar to the old SO's) and somewhere the Williams ratcheting screw driver(s) also came up. Got some great Ball Pein Dead Blow hammers after learning about TrustyCook.com. Introduced to Mayhew where I got some sweet pry bars and various service pics...those are some just to mention a few.
The value of the recommendation is in the eye of the beholder so I get that I'm not looking for just any old recommendation. Over the past couple of days I've started jonesing for the surfacing of the next unknown good one. How does one ask the masses to hurry it up already?
