Hi Adam,

Thank you very much for the post, I am glad it hit it on the head. I saw that you had broken a miniature pocket driver and included that, in fact it was inspiration for the ratcheting driver. I really got you with the Amazon box I guess, because I remember you posted that your SS had gotten you something from Amazon and it could be just about anything but that ended up being a red herring because you can't get those Snap-on screwdrivers from Amazon :)

Hi Franz,
Thanks again. You really pulled one over on me-- I was still thinking this was Amazon until you said something and trying to figure out how they did that. LOL.

I'm going to really enjoy the new tools.

Adam

My Secret Santa was very good to me. I got a set of Wiha insulated screwdrivers (wow! these are nice) a Proto Professional wrench along with a tiny 1/4" GearWrench, and a set of SAE and a set of metric GearWrenchs that are also branded Ace Professional. :)

IMG_2824.jpg

Thank you Secret Santa!! Let me know who you are, as there was no screen-name enclosed.

Merry Christmas! xmas

Scott

Hi Scott,

That was me. I had picked out stuff before names were even drawn, so hopefully you do get some good use out of that stuff or can make someone's day if you have duplicates.

I liked those Gearwrenches enough that I bought a full set for myself and more basic sets to give away as presents--those were the first ones I got and I hope you have the chance to try them and like them as much as I did. The screwdrivers were a past gift to me and I liked them very much, but never did enough electrical work to have the dedicated set. Knowing how much a lot of people here are big on Wiha I figured I could probably really make someone happy by giving them a new home as well. And the other little things were a couple throw-ins that I thought you might get a kick out of.

This was the first year that I sent some of my own stuff instead of buying new and it was a lot harder than I thought! I'm glad you liked everything though. I'm in for next year again!

Merry Christmas!

Adam

I am glad you like the vise grips. I am a big fan of them myself. Unfortunately the originals get harder to find as time goes by. Hopefully they are of use on your welding projects.

- tool_scrounge

Oh they will!! I'll probably use them this next week on a couple projects. I've found some like the ones on the left, but the next size down, I think the straight jaw ones you sent me are 9s whereas the ones I've found are 7s. Both straight and curved jaws, Peterson's made in DeWitt, NEB found in a discount tool store NIB. I gave a pair of each to my SS recipient last year.

Guys it is WAY too early to be thinkin someone flaked :headscrat

Sometimes it takes awhile to get a good gift, then you throw in it might be coming from overseas, then throw in a large storm in the midwest. So it might be a few days to a few weeks till your gift arrives.

This happens every year either the package gets lost or the recipient just gets stiffed there has gotta be a way to not let this happen. Back up plan or something.:(

I doubt my SS flaked - last week's midwest weather messed up mail and shipping pretty significantly. I shouldn't complain because I sent my package last minute.

Last minute shopping and shipping happens when you have small children and jobs that require you to be outside prepping for the first snow of the year. Next year we will have to ship stuff a week earlier to avoid delays. You have to agree, it is less wondering when your stuff isn't sitting there where you can shake it labeled "Don't Open till Xmas".

My Secret Santa out of Winston-Salem was very generous. I received two Ernst 16 wrench organizers, a Klein multi-bit screwdriver, a General automatic center punch, and a Mercedes-Benz hat & calendar. The hat is really nice and even fits my big head! Many thanks for the really nice Secret Santa package. I'll post pictures later. Now to check the packing closely and see if there is a name (other than S Santa on the return address label) associated with the box.

Thanks again!

Glad you liked everything Tool_Scrounge! I didn't find many hints in your postings, so I went by your wish list. I'm going to order myself a set of the wrench organizers. Those are the only ones I have found where the wrenches don't snap into place. I like Klein tools, and the screwdriver looked pretty nice. And even though the centerpunch wasn't a high dollar brand, hopefully it'll give you good service. And the cap and calendar were freebies from work! Merry Christmas!

Got a 10mm Eastwood ratcheting wrench (I've been needing another one), a Hilti knife (been needing a good knife), a Craftman Finger Bit Driver (needed that last week), a Jonnesway Stubby Phillips Screwdriver (made in Germany, can't wait to try it out), LA Cross precision tweezers (almost didn't see those in the bottom of the box),and some stickers for the tool box. Oh, and last but not least, was an awesome Mercedes 3' x 4' flag. That'll be going on my garage wall right above the tool box!

Hi Adam,

I haven't had a chance to take a picture of my SS gift yet but it is my first Felo driver set, a torx set from stonesfan68. It is perfect, made in Germany which I adore and I have been wanting to check out the Felo stuff, thank you so much!!! I owe you guys a picture but I really wanted to post anyway, so that will have to come later.

-Franz

I'm glad that you liked them. I'm going to have to get a set for myself now, too, so I can work on my own BMW and Volvo.

Thanks a ton to my SS, hickmlg09, who sent me a Sears gift card! I received it weeks ago but forgot to come back and post.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everybody.

A big thanks to Jeff Moss for my MANY secret santa gifts. Here's a pic of me with 2 Ohio license plates, a nice old Utica adjustable wrench, some cool, old Kraeuter slip joint pliers and a sweet, new Knipex hat. I needed a new hat so this was perfect... Only problem is now I'll have to drop some cash on some Knipex goodies since I don't have any! There was a ton of other stuff in there too but I couldn't hold it all... :D

This was my first GJ secret santa and I look forward to participating again next year. Merry Christmas everyone!

I'm glad you liked them. I figured old world tools would be easy for you to acquire so I gathered up some gold old USA made tools for you. (except for the Made in Canada Fuller) I hope you like the SK and Proto ratchets. Sorry everything was thrown in the package it was the only way to fit everything.

I don't have pics yet, or know who my secret santa was, but thank you !!!

I recieved a set of Fleet wrenches, (my first Fleet tools) and also a couple of Utica Pliers, which is always cool to get Utica Tools from other parts of the country.

Of course now my OCD is going to kick in, and I'll be forced to find the rest of the wrenches to make a complete set. LOL Thank you, the gifts were great!!!

I'll get pics up soon.

Well, it is now Christmas morning. So as I sit and drink my coffee before going to work, my first order of business is to open my SS gift. A huge array of Stanley screwdrivers. Looks like 11 in all. Looks like somebody knows about my screwdriver fetish. Luckily, I have a tool box fetish as well and have plenty of room for these. Thank you Secret Santa whoever you are! Merry Christmas to all!!!!!!!

PS Pics will have to wait til later - sorry.

Post them up man......

I have to wait till I get home tomorrow to get mine up

Glad you like them

Well my Secret Santa did real well by me this year!

I got what I would describe as a "care package" of the things we are always looking for, that included a MAG lite (I love those!!!), a smaller LED flashlight, a tape measure, a pair of needle nose pliers, and an changeable bit driver.

THANKS SECRET SANTA!!!

well I got some cool stuff from my SS

I got an asortment of snap on stickers. funny thing about me is I used to collect the stickers from snap on back in the 80s and 90s but could never really bring myself to stick them on my box. so these will get added to this collection.
I also got an ALASKA shot glass that will go well with my shot glass collection.
I got a couple bottle openers which should come in handy when having a few beers with friends.
some of the other things are a T shirt to wear in the shop ( from alaska), an alaskian plate to go on the wall of the shop with the other plates. and an alaskian type of knife and cutting board
Im starting to think my secret santa may have spent some time in alaska.....
many thanks to Henry Crankshaw
