hello garage journal!
first off wanted to say im a new member and think this site is awesome!! ive been creeping around and seeing alot of informative stuff here in regards to my dilema.sorry if this is a repeated thread! here it is.
i've got engineered trusses in my 36x36x14 pole barn. they are 9'oc sitting on laminated posts. i intend on spray foam insulation for the entire interior( want it nice and toasty in there with my heated floor. gets pretty bitter out here in nwi indiana). i want to drywall the ceiling but obviously need to add joists to attach trusses laterally. i dont want to over weight the trusses by adding joist (2x4 or 2x6) and then attching 1/2 drywall. the bottom chords are 2x6.
has anyone done this before? is it safe? pictures comments and advice would be greatly appreciated!!
