Small or miniature horizontal band saw?

I have some metal round and barstock that I need to cut for a project that I want to work on this winter. The metal that I need to cut is lot of small pieces generally less than 2" diameter and varying between 3 - 8 inches long.

The shop is already stuffed to the gills and I don't have any room for a regular horizontal saw, and money is limited. I thought of getting a portaband or something similar, but I'm afraid that a hand-held saw will not give me very accurate results.

Is there a way to retrofit a saw like this: http://www.harborfreight.com/portable-variable-speed-bandsaw-47840.html and make some kind of hinged frame to hold it like a horizontal saw?

Good or bad idea? Other suggestions?

used portaband from craigslist + a swagoffroad table with their miter gauge you can get pretty precise cuts.

I looked at those from Swagoffroad, but I don't see how to make it a horizontal one... I can't see manually pushing a piece of 1" stainless round thru a vertical setup like they show and getting any cuts that are close to accurate... :?

I believe Milwaukee sells a table to mount their portaband horizontally with a pivot at the back. I saw one at our training center recently. This is what you are looking for.

Nice to know someone is still making this sort of thing. I have the Porter Cable version of this, and it turns a portaband into a true horizontal band saw.
