I bought the set new and it didn't come with any scratches....the photo was taken when the set was new.

My other box has plastic module sets and there's still room in the drawers for all the add-ons....

Here is what I've got.

I bought the magnetic rails that the Snap On reps use in the trucks. I can pull the rail out if I want, and this way I can organize them how I like.

This is the top tray from my old Craftsman box. I recently got a big box and added my impact sets. Kinda ***** being in the top tray I have to use a step to see into here. Red for SAE blue for metric. Been painting my tools for 35 years. I see harbor freight has copied my color scheme.

Skull, how do you paint them? What type of paint etc?

I don't see any Ernst setups so I guess I'll post mine. Sorry no 3/4 drive but This is most of what i have in the toolbox. It's a combination of Ernst and factory trays. Have to get some more Ernst to finish it off.. The cart has 4 18" rails with my most commonly used in all 3 drive sizes but no pic at the moment.

Canukian,

Did you paint your Ernst rail holders? I would prefer black to the normal white/gray. If so, what did you use?

no they came that way. They even have "snap on" stamped in them lol. Back a few years ago, Ernst made some rail kits specifically for Snap On. These kits had red rails and black holders. An ebay seller was selling the holders cheap so I picked up a few packs.

I'm not a pro by any means, but I do have 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" in SAE and Metric, including deep wells. They're in a 26" drawer.

Ok I gotcha. I guess I'll be painting mine then, no sense in buying other ones just to have black.

Thanks and btw, I have an Orange soft handle that needs a new home

Does anyone find those speedy wrench thingies (that look like a hand brace drill) useful?

And what do you use those wrenches for that have a socket drive on a bar, and the socket drive slides along the bar?

Thanks

A speeder? I have a 1/4" and a 3/8" from Snap-On and I use them quite a bit. Mainly on small engines, motorcycles and transmissions.

I keep my 1/4 and 3/8 drive in one drawer for now.Soon as my top chest,a 4S Matco top comes, the 1/4 drive tools will go in there in one of the drawers. My 3/8 drive and 1/4 socket sets stay in the original case they came in including my 1/4 drive GP impact socket set.

I laid out all of my "socketry" and it covered a table 8ft by 3ft and there was still plenty on the floor including all ratchets, extensions, swivels etc. I think Ive got too many sockets.

Nothing fancy here. I use the Hansen trays for 1/4" dr through 1/2" dr in both SAE and Metric. I like the trays, but those empty posts glare at you to the point that you scrounge and scrounge until you can fill them! I have everything filled now in each drive size except a deep 3/8" dr 20mm socket and a 1/4" dr 5/8" and 15mm. 20mm i'm not worried about because I've never encountered a 20mm fastener to this point. The 1/4" dr 15mm and 5/8" are tough to find without getting on a tool truck...

Craftsman singles except that 5/8. I need 3/8 deep 6/7. 1/4 both 1/8 and 5/8. Or maybe my 1/4 drive is duralast... I'll check tomorrow when I take my pics to add to this.

I check my 15mm 1/4 drive is duralast. My 20mm 3/8 is duralast. Bought as singles

Average. Works for me. I choose to double up on 1/2 shallow. And just buy 10 piece deep sets. I have 1/2 deep Chrome and metric Chrome and impact's in there cases in another drawer. And an extra set of shallows in 3/8 and 1/4 in another drawer.

1/4, 3/8, 1/2 chrome in 6 and 12 point metric and standard and 3/8 and 1/2 metric and standard impacts all in hf trays. If it wasn't for a large drawer 30" deep this wouldn't work.

Sockets are the cm 299 and impacts are 90 piece impact set also cm. I should be well covered.

I know this wastes a lot of space this way but I hated the trays since I didnt have a full set. Anyways here is my craftsman set.

130427_0014_zps2dd6ebb6.jpg

I have two classic cars that I drive all over the country, this is the set that I carry in the trunk along with a full set of wrenches and misc. other tools.
