as a plumber i have to tell you that your pump may not be mounted in the right position. would be better to have the axle in the horizontal position.

Thanks for the interest. I have also heard that the pump mounting is not optimal but it is what it is now not changing anything now until something brakes only time will tell how long that will be?

kicking it on the chevelle getting the big picture in my head. Ride height,stance, motor location,steering and brakes figured out. Thought you might want a peek at the state the chevelle in in now. We have been super busy ripping and tearing every thing off the car that we are not going to use and here is whats left.

Well finally got finished tearing things off the car we are not going to use.lol. pretty much all we are going to reuse is the shell and part of the frame!

sorry for the lack of posting . wife has been in and out of the hospital just having a hard time finding enough hrs. in the day to get much done but still chipping away a little at a time. got almost all of the accessory system done and just about ready to get the car frame sent to the sandblaster.

On the first picture you see the intake manifold with 8 inlets on top, correct?
But then on the second picture you see the carb mounted on the front, with the butterfly valve on the front. Isn't that where the connection to the airbox goes? What are those eight inlets for then?

I dont think it is the same inlet. The one on top is Ali, and the bottom is black. also all 8 inlets on top are just for show

is ok to ask questions that how the smarter ones learn! the intake is a factory ls6 intake with pvc glued to it and stacks off a cbr 1000 motorcycle machined to fit the pvc. alot of fab work just for the look of old school FI. the front is a throttle body wich will be covered up. there is 2 different intakes both are plastic. hope this helps.

going to get into the body mods soon then sandblasting and paint after that. still a long ways off though.

nope.it is a nibbler steel fingernail catch pan the nibbler punches 10 gauge steel and it is mounted on my english wheel frame soon to be finished.

the control arms are from auto city classics in Isanti mn. I belive they are global west copies I normaly like to suport our country but when you are going to cut them up to make the air bag mounts. I do have another set of a restored arms that came off this car sandblasted primed new bushings and painted, also have another set of tubular arms that have smaller tubes than these and rubber bushings that are going on ebay soon so let me know what your looking for and maybe I can help. Ps. I am glad you live that far away because if we were neighbors we would be building cool sh1t all the time!

tricky question here. sometimes I use acrylic enamel reducer,sometimes mineral spirts sometimes acetone. any of them work it depends how fast you want it to dry and what you have on hand the base coat was done with 4 ounces of hardener per qt. because it was going to be top coated with clear and if you don't use hardener and you top coat the clear it will wrinkle the base coat the airbrush paint is thinned alot about 2 parts reducer to 1 part paint the base is thinned about 20%you can get by with no hardener but you need to let it dry for about a month and your coats of clear over the top must be applied very lightly. hope this helps let me know if you have anymore questions. Thanks for the input.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I never thought about using hardener with Rustoleum. You're reducing it way more than I thought was possible. I guess it's a trial and error thing, I've never mixed it that thin. I do know, Rustoleum (and that style of paint) requires some thinning to go through a gun made for automotive finishes.

the massive thinning is just for the airbrush not the big gun for the base. 10 to 20 % is what the base is thinned.

Ha ha ... I just got home from 2 months in FL ... damn snow is still on the ground here ... about 6". Hopefully it will be gone soon. I'm down to 3 bandsaws but want them all. The DoAll and Rollin are used just about every day when I'm here working in the shop. The Wellsaw horizontal rarely gets used, but it is great to have when you need it. I am watching for a good used DoAll for sale that my buddy wants, but I'll keep you in mind if I happen to notice one in your neck of the woods. Cheers, Bill
