Hi all, my first post but I have been a lurker on here for a good while.
Name's Tom and I hail from the UK. Been spannering for a few years acruing tools (I have restored and continue maintaining a 1955 Volkswagen Beetle) so have started my tool collection from the ground up.
I'm in the process of acquiring some decent tools, as my 'box has a great variation in quality. Completed my resto on a moderate budget so didn't always have the best tools, but I have started to see my cheaper ones wearing out and the higher quality stuff keep going, so I know it makes sense to upgrade to better stuff.
Up until now I've been using a 30+ year old Japanese 1/2 socket set that was given to me by my dad. The ratchet is showing some signs of age and the mechanism is a bit dodgy, and the rest of the set has various parts missing or has seen abuse in the past. I've read the Japanese tool thread and the set does seem well made, so I need to do some research to see what it is. Anyway...
I've been looking to get a decent 1/2 socket set that will last me the foreseeable future. I stumbled across the Hazet 902SPC but couldn't find much out about it. Seems like a good price and it'll get me all the sizes I need in 1/2 and 1/4, as well as a couple of extensions and nice ratchets. I already have a half decent 3/8 set, as well as a few 1/4 odds and ends. Here's a link anyway:

Love to know what ye think
Ideally after something German, but I couldn't find anything Gedore or Stahwille in the same price bracket. If you have any other recommendations please let me know!
Cheers,
Tom
