Just moved into a new place with a detached 24x24 with no power to it. Got some 6-3 teck cable to do a buried run to garage from house panel. Want to have 60 A service with 240 v in garage.

The old homeowner left this breaker panel, can it be used in the garage for what I want to do?

Thanks

The pic is a little blurry but it looks like the panel has a main disconnect with an interlock or lockout handle and branch circuit spaces. Its a Sq. D, do u happen to have a model #? You will probably have to buy a ground bar and isolate the neutral bus bar from the panel enclosure

Edit: The pic wouldnt load for me earlier so that why i said the above. Yup thats a 3-phase panel, so unless u have 3-phase, its a no go!

Thanks guys, that's the kind of info I needed. A 60 amp with a bunch of slots shouldn't be too expensive anyways. Figured I'd see if that one was good anyways.

Throw it on Craigslist, you should get more than enough to cover the cost of a new single phase box.

Check your favorite Big Box Store. The frequently have 100A load centers with a bunch of individual breakers for really GOOD prices.

A Square-D QO 100A panel with 8 spaces (16 if you use double breakers) goes for $56 at HD (when you get them to match the Lowes price). Used one for my solar project.
