Mr junk , you do get a you ****! I want your bottom box to go with my top!
The old clunker just followed me home. No keys, but the front door panels seem to wok well and there doesn't seem to be much rust. I'm thinking it's from about 1949 or 1950. Should clean up fairly nice.

The bottom probably is late 40's as you guess. the top could be from then till the early 60's. that is the stereotypical Kennedy 520 style machinist box, (whether it was made by K or not... I have a Waterloo with the same drawer pulls and W had a contract with sears for years....)

I am looking for a vintage Snap on, Craftsman or Kennedy hand held tool box for 13 year old son. It will be his 1st box and I plan on making it look brand new... If anyone has one they want to sell, let me know...

Just a hand held one, something like 18-20 inches long.. Id like to find one with a removable metal tray.. It doesn't have to be too fancy. I just want something he can use for a long time and will one day think it pretty cool I bought/refinished for him.and I live in Kansas

You STILL **** Chief...

Not mine but a co-worker picked this up from a guy who worked in an automotive shop starting in the 1920's. We think it was handmade but we aren't sure.

It has lots of neat little compartments. Some were obviously intended for particular items - though we can't figure them all out.

No, only markings on it is what you see, WB.Does the padlock say Bell System?!

Going to look at this Rem-Line tomorrow for $50. About 26.5" wide, a little surface rust. It doesn't have the wheels on the bottom anymore, but I have some extra casters laying around. Is it a good deal?

I picked up this Old Kennedy Machinist box yesterday at a garage sale for $17.50. Any one know how old it is? It has drawer pulls like I have never seen on a Kennedy. The paint is very heavy on the wrinkle finish compared to the newer stuff. Leather handle, which I have seen before on these. Their was a logo on the box that is mostly worn off. The drawer all work great except the bottom is a bit sticky.
Anyone know how to get these style drawers out? They don't have the "tabs" like the modern ones. I tried slipping something in between the slides and drawers like the old Snap Ons use and that didn't work. There is some paperwork under that bottom drawer and I want to see what it says.
Sorry wouldn't let me load all the pics in one posting
I think that might be for a Valve seat grinding set. I have seen many similar boxes like that before. The holes are for the pilots, and the rest for holding the grinder motor, the wheels and a few misc accessories.
