Corded drill recommendation. High torque, High speed VSR

I need a corded drill to operate EZ Car Lift.
Needs to be greater than 8 amps, dual speed, infinitely adjustable from 0-max RPM (new Dewalts start at 500rpm and won't go slower, just shut off). Would really like keyless chuck.
The more powerful the better, the faster the better. I want to be able to raise and lower the lift quickly.
Around $150 or so.

I wouldn't buy the bosch. I have had three of them that have burnt out the power switch, while running them at half speed.

The specs you have are hard to meet. If I were you I'd find out what they were using in the video. If you can't find it , them I would get a Makita - they are professional quality tough drills.

The important thing you want is triple-gear-reduction which this one has.

I have the Makita DP4010. I don't see it on the US Makita site, but there are similar drills.

Its got tons of power, and will set you on your **** if it fetches up. I drill 1/2 holes in heavy steel with no problem.

It looks like only the hammer drills have the higher rpm and the 2-speed.

The problem you got is looking for a 1 hp drill motor with a variable speed trigger that will last. I've never found one worth a ****. I'd suggest a Milwaukee hole hog, it has a two speed gear box and will handle what you wanna do with ease. GL

Makita makes some great corded drill motors. And a CPO would be a great buy. It's all I buy anymore.

I suspect that lift was meant to be hand cranked, 350rpm is several times what you can do by hand. Besides what does it matter how long it takes to raise/lower?

It needs rpm for sure. You'd be cranking for days with a ratchet .

Nope, they design them for using a drill.

Their site claims it can lift to 26" in 90 seconds. A review of the lift said it took just under 2 minutes to lift a car to full height. Neither mentioned the rpm of the drill used though.

My 3/8'' drive Bosch will put a 1'' auger bit through a 4X4 doug fir no problem. I'd imagine the 1/2'' drive Bosch is a stump puller.
