All expensive when you have them wired for 240 Volt. At present I have 3 - 240 plugs 1, Pre stage, 2, the Ambers and the 3rd plug as Green & Red.

Hey Lee
I didn't know your thread existed or I would have been here much sooner
I love your set up and yes we have very similar tastes. Your stop lights are great and your moon eyes look very good are you an artist?
I have a buddy that draws all my stuff.
So like me do you find it harder to get back to working on the cars?
And more enjoyable creating new from old?
You are very good at it. I will be looking in often
Thanks for the heads up.
Don
Do the traffic lights alternate or can you only have one color on at a time ?
I made a Xmas tree some years back and I am still trying to work out how to set the lights in sequence.
There are lots of options available;
1. timer and relay set up.
2. Small logic controller.
3. An irrigation timer switching relays.
Of course a lot of how you set it up and cost would be dependant on the voltages you are intending to run the lights at, with a 240 volt system you would need to comply to AS/NZS 3000:2007 Electrical installation standards, where as a 12 or 24 volt system the standards are not so much of an issue.
Nice work on the signs and lights, cool shop.

Hello,
I really love your collection of both cars and signs.
But as a Norwegian i have to ask; why do you have a giant Norwgian flag in your garage?
Best regards,
Sindre
I will do a bit of research on the most cost effective way we can sort this. Will be in touch. I am back at work tomorrow.
Hi HOTFR8,
At the moment all the greens come on for 10 sec then amber for 5sec and red for 15sec, we bought the sequences from ebay in America they are 12volt units. My wife is the sparky so i will have to ask her on if we can change them. In the near future i am planning on making a couple of drag lights with different themes eg: famosa raceway, orlando raceway, so i want them to all work in a proper sequence as well. I can send you the link for the guy in America who sells the sequencers if you would like. We also put led bulbs in them so power usage and lifespan of the bulbs was better. cheers lee
Hi 1/2 Cup
Thanks for helping out on the technical stuff, i will ask the wife about some of those options for our next projects the dragracing tree. I would never of thought about an irrigation timer setup so thanks for that. lee
Lee,
I will do some research over the next week or so, i may be able to scrounge some bits, or at the very least come up with a suitable design for both yours and HOTFR8 projects.
Cheers
It looks to me that Lee and I could be looking for the same thing. I would have used the Clipsal strobe controller on each of the three leads and all would have worked well for me. I was also considering a simostat (like a thermostat) as a controller but I would need three and they are bulky compared to the now obsolete Clipsal strobe controller unit.
Forward on the details of the sequencing unit when available and I could work a circuit diagram to suit either a 240 or a low voltage application that's going to be safe and meet the standards. Happy to assist in any way that I can.
The thing that we need to be mind full of is the operating voltage and frequency of the gear in the states differs from ours, so I recommend that you look for a sequencer that operates at either 12 or 24 volts D.C.

I may have to contact you about this, can you pm me you contact details please.Lee,

Nice stuff man!
Where is Bundamba? I spent some time around Taroom QLD back in the late '90s

Lee,
Looks to me like 1/2Cup may be able to help us both here and make it with local parts.
He has done some design work as well as some homework. I take it after speaking with him today he has some good ideas that will run your Traffic lights and my Xmas tree.
If you want PM myself or 1/2Cup for the drawing / design work.
Great stuff;
Pickup
Belly tank
Signs
Oil bottles

Paint job looks great on the Chevy cab, I always like that color or green. That color reminds me of 40's era advertising stuff, don't know why?
Belly tanks are always cool, just having that display in the yard would get a lot of attention.
Its hard to find people around here that can do the quality of work you do, sure wish we lived closer.
The Coke buttons are getting harder to find, and if they are not full of holes or dents almost like hens teeth.
The oil toppers look cool, I think the few that I have just are stamped with the Standard Oil, haven't seen too many painted like that, you sure find some neat old stuff. OK back to work.
Love the pickup and the signs.
I bought a couple more vintage style signs at a swap meet a little while back. I've got to pull finger and hang them up. My wife bought me a nice one the other day too.
Cheers
