Looked like another slow weekend, but I mapped out a route last night and here's what I found.
Stop 1, estate sale, apparently opened before the stated 8 am start time. $4.75 for all of this:
Duro/Indestro Select wrench set with roll, Square-C Craftsman Vanadium linesman's, Bernard parallel-jaw pliers, Cee-Tee slip-joints, and 3 Craftsman DBEs (don't think I've ever seen Craftsman shorties before.)
Stop 2 tantalized with an ad that included the phrase "Toolbox with tools." Alas, it was underwhelming and overpriced. I did find a couple of $.50 grab bags with enough goodies to make it worth the buck:
2 Herbrand ignition wrenches, a Barcalo DOE, a chewed-up Craftsman orange-handled Pro screwdriver, 2 Wright, 1 Snap-On, and 1 Sparta socket.
The next productive stop gave up a Sealed Power piston ring tool for another buck, but no pic of that.
A couple fruitless Targets of Opportunity, then I headed for the last stop of the day: an estate sale on its second day a few blocks off Lake Michigan. I was concerned when I realized that it was "Maritime Heritage Weekend" and that all the garage sales on the drive in had cars wrapped around the block. Still, I was third on the sign-up list and waited 15 minutes for the sale to open. I was first in the garage. Ended up spending $29.75 total for everything in both pics:
2 Cman Groover/Dado sets, a 1980-vintage Micronta multimeter in its original box, a Stevens Spintite T-handle, -Craftsman- 4" adjustable wrench, Daniels Fisherman scissors, Wiss Inlaid scissors, Brink and Cotton 3" C-clamp, and 3 Craftsman C-clamps.
Pliers! -Craftsman- tongue-in-groove, Barcalo linesman's, Utica Button's and wiring, Crestoloy cutters, BMC adjustable, Diamond bent-nose, Duro-Chrome battery, Kraeuter Linesman's and ...duckbill(?), and two of a type I don't recognize; one USA by 'Prinzlaff' (or something similar), one unmarked with mfr or COO.
