I have an airking 20" whole house fan mounted in a window in my garage. When its on, Ill raise the garage door a couple inches. I have an app Friday to have a GF-14 garage fan installed. theyll install 2 vents in the garage door so I wont have to raise the door anymore. I have an unfinished storage area above my garage that the fan will vent to. Does anyone have one of these fans? Im hoping it will keep the storage area cool as well as the garage. Ill keep the window fan in since it can be set to intake or exhaust. Its right in front of my workout area so it helps the immediate area feel cooler when on intake.

Let us know how the GF-14 works out, I am looking to get one of these installed as well. The only question I have is the compatibility of the vents with insulated garage doors. Pics would be helpful too!

Will do. I have insulated doors also. I was planning on getting a sheet of white magnet to block the vent from the inside during the winter.

Just bought the fan and going to install it next week. Talked with the owner, I think, and was really helpful.

Please update after the install and let me know how it is. I had an appt to get mine installed 2 days ago but they called and said the fan wasnt delivered yet and I would have to re-schedule. Havent heard a time frame.

Interesting, when I talked with the owner, he said that if I wanted it professionally installed, that they ship it to my house, then the installer will come. Where are you located?

Did you order the premium aluminum vents? He did say that he was expecting an shipment of them in either today (Thursday) or Friday.

Is there a rule of thumb for the size of an exhaust fan vs the size of the shop?

I plan to install one of those indirect drive exhaust fan with movable shutters on one end at the highest point that I can in my shop. What size recommended for about 2800 sq ft?

Thanks,

This is what I use, made in Canada too, not China, yay!

It does move a good amount of air and isn't overly noisy, but I have an L-shaped garage so I need a second fan to keep air circulating. I bought an end of season 24" cheapy fan at Menards last year. It's not nearly as nice as the Seabreeze, much noisier and moves less air, but the two together are far better than sweltering.

I have a ceiling fan that helps, but what seems to work best for me is a box fan blowing air into the garage I sent up at the door. Seems the air in the garage gets pretty stale and pushing outside air in seems to work for me.

I have ceiling fans and I bought a 48" fan on wheels at Tractor Supply. That fan really moves air and is not obnoxious to have running.
