Never looked at your local store's "clearance" aisle? Most of the stores Ive been in have them mostly full of returns, tho the prices can vary from lil/nothing off to 90%+.
Sadly ours doesn't. Well it has a clearance shelf or two. Where they offer misc sets, mostly sockets and the like missing quite a few pieces and the discounts not that great. Occasionally they have a top box sitting on the floor. But they usually look like they fell off the truck at speed

. Again discount isn't that great IMHO.
We use to have a sears outlet that was freaking awesome. Small scratch -$200, no joke. I bought a lot of my tools there just clearance out the old models, ex a real nice hacksaw for $2. Nothing wrong with them. Sadly that location has closed down and the new outlet store is a ghost town full of overpriced, very damaged merchandise. O sears.
