I bought another Hot Tank, Jet Spray this time. I am going to keep my Soak type for using Caustic Soda for use with Cast Iron. I've had the soak tank for about 4 yrs.

I doubt very much that I will ever " have to " run both machine at the same time, but if the situation came up it would sure be nice. I ran 8ga. wire on a 20 amp breaker for the existing circuit

I have plywood on the walls and it will be a PIA to remove to run a complete new circuit. Other option is to tie into my existing outlet and add another outlet 4'-5' away. Runnin both machines at the same time would be doubtful.

Both machines can be run w/o heat and just circulating the cleaning chemicals.

Pros of adding a new circuit - the few times a year I would want to run both machines, I could.

Cons ... PIA, have to take down my " Head Working " Bench and remove all the plywood. But could be done in a day.

Pro's of tying into the existing outlet, ... easier to do

Cons, doubt I could run both units at one time.

Whats your opinion ?

TIA

Tennesse, USA No pics of panel but it is normal, and less than 1/2 full. Detached 1,200 sq. ft. building w/ own power supply.

What other pics do you want besides electrical panel, and do you want the cover off of it ?

EDIT: After thinking about it, with the description I gave of what I want to do ... what are pics going to change ?

I was going to post pics of the machines but only had one ready and it wasn very good.

There's you answer. Add another plug. I've got 4 230v lines in my shop, they all have multiple plugs. My compressor and the plazma cutter are on the same line and have never opened the breaker.

You have 8 g wire. Your in good shape.

Thanks for this response ! This was pretty much what I was looking / hoping for.

I've got a friend who's an " Industrial " ( plays w/ 230 and up ) Electricain coming over today to look at what I have and talk to me about it.

8 ga wire is normally good for 40 amps - change the breaker to a 40a and you are good to go. Nice job using 8 instead of 12 when you originally installed the run!

Well I tied into the existing outlet and all is good. Both machines work at the same time for at least 15 min. off of a 30a breaker, that was just done as a test.

If "220" it's not the USA or Canada.

Yea I have 246v at all the outlets.

My Mill, Lathe, Mig Welder, Head & Block Surfacer ( Storm Vulcan 85B ) and the Jet Spray hot tank all say " 220v " for the power supply.

Only my Soak Tank says " 230v " for the power supply.

Most are Mid 90's. Lathe and Mill were made in ROC. Still dont understand the reason for your post, you knew what I was talkig about yet offered no help. Just like the online grammer cops.
