worked on a Lola 598, taking it up to Mid-Ohio tomorrow to check out the engine. If everything goes well I will get it ready to take to COTA race track in two weeks.

Made a Menards run today. Picked up some small organizers. Been out in the garage just cleaning some items up and getting ready for trash day in the morning.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Put up some bubble wrap to temporarily fill in the gap at the top of the wall dividing two of the stalls from the third, this is partly to try and keep any heat in the part I will be working in this winter, and partly so my dehumidifier is only having to deal with two damp sections. When the roof gets redone next year the wall will be rebuilt to fiull height. Bubble wrap is just stapled to the rafters and the joints taped. I also stapled up anothert couple of lengths of foil backed bubble insulation over the bench, this is an exercise in futility as far as heat goes but it does deal with the fact that the roof is a bit leaky in high winds/heavy rain and also keeps the **** from getting blown onto my bench. Got more to do today.

Engine stay's in the car, the seats come out and a rear panel comes off to access the front of the engine. Not that hard to do a service on a F40.
Pays 40 hours.

This car needs spark plug wires, Ferrari wants $780 each :eyecrazy:

Nice car. Is that the service that starts with:

Step 1: remove the engine.

Cleaned carb on push mower, and installed one of these....

Everyone should put one on their mower since new carbs are sooooo sensitive these days. Will save you a carb cleaning or two. Especially for the guys that forget to put stabil in their yard equipment tools

Last night tried to change the rear wheel bearing in a 2002 Altima. Got half the bolts out before I ran out of gas (And cuss words). Hopefully a bit of liquid wrench and some time will make this afternoon a little more successful.

Detailed my 2006 Duramax over the past couple of nights. It got "rail dust" on it somehow and ended up with little rust specs that needed to be dealt with.

I'm a couple months from finishing my AAS degree in Diesel Equipment Technology. Today I finished getting this CAT 3406B fully torn down and checked crank runout.

I drilled a hole in my garage door concrete slab to determine if it was thick enough to support the MAXJAX 2 post lift.

It was 4.5" so I am GTG.

PS: Last day for the MAXJAX group buy.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

I spent some more time today cleaning, and tossing some more old catalogs I had. I had to paint an old antique mailbox that was made years ago out of sheetmetal for my wife. She is going to mount it out by her garden in the backyard, to put some small trowels, gloves, and whatever else in.

Then in sanding it all down with my Ingersoll-Rand DA sander, the cheap plastic muffler that it came with , broke off at the neck of the muffler. I just got finished taking some dimensions and am getting ready to turn one down out of aluminum. I'll post up a couple of pics if I remember, once it's completed.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Busy day today, hauled three truck loads of grass/leaves/shrubs to the yard waste dump. Started doing the rear brakes on my GMC 2500HD. Between the interruptions from the wife, the kids, and the new shop puppy, I got the passenger side done. I looked at the clock and thought I'd be nice to the neighbors. Since I was working in the driveway and it was ten o'clock, I figured I'd close up shop and not use the hammer to get the other rotor off. I try not to piss off the neighbors too much.

Finished my lamp. Want to re-do the cord so it comes out the back.

Check out how it is switched.

I really like that.

I've got a couple cylinders out of an O-320 we pulled when we put new cylinders in. I want to do at least 1 of them as a lamp.

Moved my next project into it...Early '65 Ford Mustang. 170 I-6, 3-speed manual trans. I'm the 4th owner, and I have all original paperwork including title and sales invoice. Going to do a "Cosmetic Restoration" as it runs/drives, but is super dirty, needs an interior, and front suspension. Some surface rust from sitting, but I can deal with it. I'll post updates here and on my Photobucket page.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Working on my ezgo golf cart... aka the clays cart since now we pretty much just use it when we go shooting sporting clays. ;)

I'm including a couple old pics just because...

The first thing was adding the clays basket on the front. That basket is so handy, if you use a golf cart for any type of maintenance work, GET ONE!

Pulled the batteries out and cleaned all the corrosion off and repainted the battery tray.

Purchased a rear seat flip-flop kit and got that installed.

Installed a double-gun holder in front of the passenger seat. After a week I ended up installing a second one on the back to hold spare guns or for the two people in the back.

Yesterday I installed some rear seat belts. Since my friend's daughter likes to come along sometimes now she can ride in the back and won't have to worry.

Next on the "to-do" list is I have a 2" lift on order (OEM EZGO kit, only $100 shipped from Amazon!), and some nice 21" tires on 12" rims.

Might also consider doing a brush guard on front, then maybe some power upgrades. It's fun to tinker with, everything is so simple on them. :willy_nil

I rewired the ATV trailer today and since my new truck didn't come with a tow wire harness I picked one up and did that. Still don't have a hitch on it yet but I gotta wait til my paycheck Friday to buy one

Finished a 01 Golf TDI ALH motor timing belt swap. Fun fun fun, especially when the aftermarket flywheel doesn't have a flipping timing mark like it should.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Finished up drawing a special pulley for a supercharger. Once I tried to save it, the computer decides to hang up. Worked with it for a while, got the drawing saved finally without losing it, then chucked up some aluminum and started some turning. BIL stopped for a hour or so, came back out and computer was locked again. Messed around on the lathe for a little longer, wife came out with a few honey-do's, so I called it quits for the day.

nice looking project, straight 6? I wish I still had my 64 1/2 289, it was stolen in 1979. I still have the title to it.
