We were back working on my friend's V8 Miata project yesterday.
After getting the engine, transmission, and front subframe all married, we used the base of an engine stand along with a pair of 4x4's to make a rolling cradle for the drivetrain. This made it easier to position the engine so we could lower the body down onto the subframe. It worked like champ! This is the part where having a lift really doesn't ****. Putting an engine in from the bottom is waaaaaaay easier than from the top.
