Great score on the DP and X-Y Vase 9Four! Good luck with the rest of the auction!
It was a garage sale I found on craigslist, a son had inherited a jobox of tools from his father (whom I was told was a millwright). Most of the stuff at the sale was junk and I mean junk. There were a few machinists tools but they were all chinese. All of it was rusty (from that standing water). Then I found the level.
I am either going to resell or just hang onto and use to level machines. I have a small horizontal mill and I'd like to get a metal lathe when I have the room.![]()

Matt -
$60 for a 15' Grumman ? YOU **** !
BIG TIME !!!
I don't even want to consider the $10 Block Grinder.![]()

Craigslist cabinet and Flea market Plumb 16'' cresent wrench for a wopping $43
The bottom is what I think is a early 70's stand for a radial arm saw or shaper. It looks better in the picture. There is a lot of light rust.

Sounds like an expensive day, but damn did you get some nice stuff. YOU ****!!!!!!!!!
And $10 of the $52 for a grinder
......
$1 each!
Snap in flex 3/8 ratchet f851. My first flex!
Snap on a179. Have to look up use --> That is some type of trim removal tool for car trim/interior work

Nine, sweet drill press and x y table. Is that all you got? Any boxes?![]()

Ariens snowblower. 5 HP Tecumseh. Those of you in the southern tier of our states may not appreciate this, but it was only $25.

Nice pliers, I love the ones with those handles, I only have one pair like that.
Do you know roughly how old they are?

EDITED** The manual water pumps were free, no one bid $1 so they attached them to the organizer lot. wtf are they for anyway![]()
Nice varied collection of stuff there nine!
The pumps are barrel pumps, you work the rods up and down and it lifts the liquid out to the spigot, where presumably you have a receptacle to collect it. not fun, and not good for thicker liquids...
Looks like they are missing the tops too. so a test could get messy...
ThanksDo you know roughly how old they are?
Can you give some examples of what stuff went for at the auction? Specifically some of the boxes, the Delta sander and the WT radial drill? Doesn't sound like too many deals were to be had.I take it the shop did mostly crank and cam work?
Can you post a pic or model # on the "Manual water pumps"? Maybe a few closer pics of the unidentified items. I think I know what the dial gauge if for, but need a better pic to be sure.![]()

Taiwanese dp was actually $275, not $250 like I thought
That little green bench model, round table, to the left of yours in the above pic? That little green bench model, round table, to the left of yours in the above pic?

Stopped at one garage sale today, it was a bust for tools, but had a couple good books I saved.
Audel's Millwrights and Mechanics Guide - over 1,000 pages of technical hardware specs, tools specs, and construction techniques, I was impressed with how much, and thought it was worth $6
How to Build the Small Block Chevrolet - I'm a sucker for car books if they are down my hot rod alley. I'm sure this will come in handy for my Impala project when I have to rebuild it's engine. Worth $6 as well.
Congrats on the sale, eborcim! It sounds like you had a good success, btw, YOU ****!!! Nice table, how much was the rifle?![]()

ZK, they started using the plastic handles in the 50's I believe, so before that for sure. not all the breeds got grooved, I don't think actual channel lock types ever got them.

The New Haven is a stock-loader semi auto. It's like new for an older gun so I thought it was worth the $70 the lady was asking.
No clue on the "1/2" marking but a guess: are the old pair 1/2" longer than the newer 317's? are the new pair 7" long?Cool, Thanks Outlaw. I just thought they were too coo to pass up for $1, plus they are super tight and jaw hatchings are near perfect.I didn't realize they were channellock till I got them home and cleaned all the rust off. At first I thought they were Kraeuters based on the handle engravings.
Do you know what the "1/2" behind 317 stands for? I have a modern (blue handle) 317's that are nearly the same from the jaws up and they are marked 317.
SNIP:

Hemi, the Stancore and the index's are VERY cool! I like em!

Now lets see you work your usual magic on that hammer.Great stuff!! Hope you will set one of those pocket protectors and rulers aside for me too![]()

My submission for the end of the week.. Scored the cool AJAX Folding Drill Index's at an estate sale in Franklin, WI.. They were in a pile of junk in a very nasty basement estate sale. I picked up the cool Stacor Museum cabinet at the same place for a song along with the cool old Winter Tap & Die set.. Unfortunately, only one of the original Winter Taps were in the box. All the other Taps were from my "extras".
I picked up the None Better 1/2" Drive 12-pt sockets/ratchet from the last local flea market of the year. I had to piece together the whole set from three different containers--it's "alsmost" a complete set. Unless--there were no 5/8" and 9/16" sizes way back in the day.. Also a very nice old Imperial tube flare kit.
The rest of the sockets are Williams Impact, Proto, couple C-Man allen sockets and a couple odd-ball Hazet sockets. Not sharing the prices this time around..
