I'm thinking of getting a Dewalt DC820 for about $100.
I already have 2 batteries from my drill.
Haven't pulled the trigger since I might get an air comp.
but maybe this would still be handy when I don't want to fill an entire tank.

What's the difference between Dewalt DC820 and Dewalt DC820B?

I have two of older V18 1/2" and love them. The new Li batteries are VERY expensive. I just bought two and they were 129.99 each. If I didn't have so many tools using the same battery system...

Not new anymore, but I keep a boot on it and clean them both every day.. I tend to get a little obsessive with cleaning stuff I spend that kind of money on. The 8810 has served me well so far, I have zero complaints and it is definitely a powerhouse. Battery life is amazing and it is plenty comfortable for all day use.

Could some one please explain what the ring on top of the gun is for. The only time I've seen something like that is when the tool is too heavy to handle by man power and is used to rig and hold it. Please don't tell me it's that heavy

From my understanding milwaukee put this out with construction in mind not auto work and the d ring is there to tie it off to a man lift or elivated work platform.

I got the Milwaukee m12 drill/1/4" impact combo three years ago and it hasn't missed a beat. Absolutely love them. Recently stepped up tho the 3/8" fuel for work.

This thing is a torque montser, tested it to over 120 ft/ lbs with my torque wrench. So light and awesome. Also grabbed new batteries.
Got the impact on ebay for $116 worth every penny.

And the Matco ones are not the same as Milwaukee. I think Ferrari must make Lamborghini's because they look alike.

Love this gun. It's a bit on the heavy side if you're working in your driveway on your back underneath the car, but it's doable. Under the hood it can only fit in so many places without the use of universals and extensions, but again, it's doable. It shines when you can get a straight on shot to things, such as crank bolts, wheels, axle nuts, exhaust clamps, etc. It's very comfortable in the hand as well, and like all other ingersoll tools, it's well balanced. With the boot on the tool, it still fits in the case provided, but has the added protection from falls, bumps and scrapes. I wish they made a spot for a few sockets in the case, as well as a rubber bumper on the batteries, but those are minor and not really a factor in a purchase. I have yet to grease it, but i shouldn't have to for a while. Even my girlfriend can use it! The trigger is very easy to control, i feel comfortable putting the plastic lug caps back on without cracking or stripping them, which is easy to do, even by hand.

my w7150 has died 3x in a year and seems like its going again, first the trigger break shits the bed then it will randomly stop impacting or not turn on then eventually nothing, it feels like its gonna die again... efb16acrx: how do you like the 18v 3/8 matco vs. the 14.4? I had the 14.4 and it was pretty much worthless... how about that 3/8 Cornwell air gun I see you have though? that things a beast huh!

Very unusual to hear that. Did they repair it each time, or replace the whole gun?

Buy it. If you are looking to replace the w7150 with something I'd get the 1/2 matco cordless too, I love mine so much I just bought a second one.

I always thought the 14.4 was a decent enough gun, until I got the 18v. The 14v is here at home now. I bought it to replace the old 14v one I had that took a swim in a bucket of atf and went to heaven ( I cleaned it by holding the trigger down and spraying brake cleaner in it until it worked again, it rewarded me by letting most of the magic smoke out), of course 2 weeks later they announced the 18v, oh well.

Its no bigger than the 14v, but its heavier because of the battery (duh), there is a hell of a difference in power, its definitely more than 50 ft/lbs more powerful, although I still think the 14v was overrated to begin with, same speed though. It has no issues zipping lugnuts off 3/4 tons. Nobody in the shop has an 8810 to compare it to though so I can't make that comparison.

One issue I've read on the matco site is people saying the 4ah battery won't charge on the old charger, that's a load of ****, it most certainly will. Battery life is pretty damn good with the 4ah battery too, and the battery is the same size and weight as the 3ah.

As for the cornwell impact, its a 1/2 inch, and yes, it is a beast. Decieving as quiet as it is. I've heard good things about the 3/8 brother, but since the cornwell guy pissed me off and I have the mg325 I won't bother.

Good thread.

I see Milwaukee is well represented.

Here is my girl, a 2662-22. There isnt a whole lot of fasteners I run into that she cant spin off with a couple of squeezes.

Don't hate. It zips off lug nuts pretty well, which is what I bought it for.

if you have the time, give a review on it's bang for the buck. A lot of members don't need/buy top of the line. It's nice to know that there are other quality options out there.

I don't really know what to say about it. I got one because I hate removing lug nuts by hand. I searched around and this was my best option as I am already invested into the Ryobi One+ system. Its $99 for the tool only or $160 minimum when you add the basic lithium battery and charger. I had read some reviews and a few people had said that it was too weak to remove their lug nuts, but I figured id try it out and return it if it didn't fit my needs. I was worried about what I had read about it being too weak, so I picked up a One+ Lithium+ battery along with the impact. The Lithium+ (p107) batteries add 15% more power/performance to the tool you are using.

I replaced the brakes on my Jeep when I got home and It zipped the lug nuts right off using the regular (p102) lithium battery with no problem. When I put the new lithium + (p107) battery in and pulled the trigger, I definitely felt the difference in power by the way it swung in my wrist. I removed the other tire, but didn't really notice a difference in the way it zipped off the lug nuts, probably because it wasn't close enough to reaching its rated torque.

I have used it quite a few times in the last 4 months to remove the lugs on my Jeep, my friends Gmc Sierra 1500, and just a few days ago on my moms scion to change a flat. So far I haven't tried using it on anything other than lug nuts, so I haven't really tested its rated limits (200ft. lbs.). I gotta say that I love the thing.
I have since picked up a few P108 high capacity lithum+ batteries that are supposed to add 35% more power/performance to my tools. I am looking forward to a scenario where I get to test its limits.

Bought it thru my cornwell guy (w7150) and yeah been replaced each time- do you think torque stick usage has contributed to an early death each time? I work at a goodyear retailer so lots of tire usage, I DO use it w torque sticks. fyi I saw some IR commercial on youtube with some tech w a ridiculous beard using it w a torque stick, is that IR saying its ok to use w torque sticks?

i am looking at this one. i am trying to decide between getting an impact with a hog ring or a pin detent. thoughts? does the pin detent really require a tool to disengage the pin to change sockets??

Here is my stable of cordless impacts. I want to get a 3/8" drive M12 to go along with the 1/4" hex. I'm not really a fan of the 1/4" hex. I've used the Makita a ton and have never had a problem. It could use some more torque but to get that I'll probably have to step up to a 1/2".

Porter Cable 1/4" hex that I forgot I had until today..... :headscrat

I had an impact with the pin, several years ago. I bought it by mistake, tried it - I thought it was a PIA. I sold it to a friend who want that feature.

I now have several with the hog ring, including the 2662-22 above. I prefer the ring for easy exchange of sockets, yet they are held securely.

Going on a couple weeks with these guys. Been very impressed with all except cold weather performance. 3/8 handles regular lug nuts no problem, 1/2 will rip off large forklift lugs and 46mm counterweight bolts all day. Average use gets me 3 days battery life, including using the light.

I'll take this in the pepsi challenge against that SO junk any day. The SO I had before it would kill the batteries about a day after the warranty was over. This Bosch has 2 year warranty to SO 1 year. It has a slower spin and a hard hammer similar to the newer SO lithium versions. Got to watch putting lug nuts back on with it because there is enough power to snap them.
