We used a DeWalt 18 volt all year at work putting irons on a building. 11/16 nuts or something. The thing would go forever on a charge. Charging only took an hour or so.

So I had to have one and got real lucky and found one at t pawn shop for $95 with two batteries, charger and case. Thing was like brand new. I've seen them at stores for well over $200 new.

Anyway... I like it. Haven't even used the one I bought yet.... but the one at work was great.

I picked up my 14.4 Dewalt off of Craigslist for $100..Money well spent, I use it at least once a week..Not as powerfull torque as yours, but it is smaller, lighter, and easier to handle..

Snap-on 1/2 18 volt cordless. I love it! when my buddies and myself used to go racing every weekend this thing made quick work of getting street tires off and slicks on. also came in handy for axle swaps. never had a problem getting a 36mm or a 32mm axle nut off with it! at about $550 its a little pricey, but as far as i am concerned worth every penny! P.S. It eats Matco cordless impacts for breakfast!

Well I've used both and even had a contest with a co-worker and the SO 1/2 impact doesn't cut it when stacked against the Matco impact. I took off 320 lug nuts torqued to 110 ft.lbs and the SO gun would only get up to 240 or so.
I bet that every guy with a SO impact has never even used a Matco impact.

I have most of the same guns you have though. I prefer SO air ratchets and I have one of those Chi com cordless screwdriver guns.

I would like to know which one of these impacts are the best use for say lug nuts or other torqued down applications. I have heard good things on Bosch over milwaulkee and alot of people aren't to impressed with dewalt. what about the new Rockwell cordless impact?

I have the same moddle as camaro.

What i love: light fast gets the job done fast. Probably a little underpowered for what your looking for but for smaller bots, nuts, and screws works perfectly. I used mine every day at aviation school to take out fastners that were stuck without stripping them.

What I hate. The smaller compact li-ion batteries die really fast. (If your just doing small stuff its fine) But if you were to use it for say building a deck they will be dead in less than 50 screws. overpowered for most woodworking jobs. Will drive a #8 clean through a pice of wood without hesitation.

Thanks
Sean Scott

Does Rockwell make a cordless impact wrench? I have seen their impact drivers, but not a square drive battery wrench.

Snap-on 3/8 7.2 volt cordless. they rate it at 50 fl/lbs, but i do not think it makes close to that. however it is your best friend for 10mm and 8mm headed bolts under dash and under hood. i really wish this came with a 1/4 anvil, but looking at the snap-on site it looks like they just released one! i think it was a little under $150

Link to the Snap-On 1/4 inch drive please?

I use the Bosch impact and driver at work.
I love them. The 30 minute charge is great, love the tiny size...I prefer it over the Snappy.

Thanks for that info. Anyone here using one? The micro 3/8" drive gun has such a bad reputation and I would think this gun would be similar.

I think you meant to post this in my thread asking about the Matco 10.8V 1/4 inch drive impact...either way, I believe that is a pistol grip screwdriver in that picture and not the impact gun.

No problem...just waiting for Hammer1963 to stumble upon either of these 2 threads. He has the Matco 10.8 and likes it a lot. I am trying to get him to post a vid of the tool in action so we can see what it is really all about.

That is not my auction. Someone stole my picture from this thread and used it in that auction.

I have heard that is a decent gun for the money. There are a couple of YouTube vids showing it in action taking off lug nuts. If you only need it for work like that it should do well.

the tech next to me "upgraded" to a matco impact and traded in his snap-on gun. within 2 weeks mine was always missing and the matco was in its place! He kept his matco for about a total of 3 months and went back to snap-on.

I do love my snappy air ratchet, but every time i use it i need ear plugs haha

I'm not saying the SO is junk it's on par with the Matco. Either one is a good impact but it's clear the Matco is a little better when you compare them. I finally got my 3/8 replacement and it's a little better than my co-worker's SO 3/8 too. Not light years better just a little more powerful.
I suggest everyone try both then buy what you think you need. I did and have no regrets.

Another thing I noticed is how much the Matco and Milwaukee guns look alike. I'm willing to bet they are made by the same company. Interesting that all the people rave about Milwaukee's guns and **** on Matco's. :headscrat

Just bought a CT7850 to add to me collection. I did a review of the W7150 vs the older CT6850, but the CT7850 should be interesting.

Have th milwaukee 1/2 inch and have to say its done everything I've come across. Did the lift kit on my new gen tundra with that and one battery. I didn't know how much power the 3/8 had or I would buy it it just seems an in the middle size. I have the impact driver, but it doesn't impact the right way so it won't take out stubborn bolts like on calipers or anything.

It is like 90% of the w7150, I never made a formal review but I bought the ct7850 already had the w7150 and all was well till I ran into a truck it was a 1 ton dodge to do some ball joints or u joints something front end wise and I usually use my w7150 and being that I had just gotten the snap on I would run it through its paces on this truck. Well it wouldn't take off some of the bolts, I grabbed the IR and it took them off. Tried the other side Same thing, snap on was not as strong. I was really hoping it was, I was just going to keep the snap on at work with 1 battery system and bring the IR home

Maybe your gun will be stronger as I am sure they vary some. I still like the ct7850 but yeah not as strong In my experience

I actually bought two CT7850, hopefully neither one is a dud. I'm definitely not expecting it to be as powerful as the W7150 given that it's only 10% stronger than the previous model. I'm more interested in the the CT7850 vs CT6850. There were things on the old model that I did not like. Just wondering if Snap On made it any better.
