Looks awesome.

I always feel inadequate in these threads where people make their own cabinets and what not... was there a talk after "the talk" that my dad forgot to give me?

Not so sure about that but thanks!! My goal is to get good enough with cabinets so that I can make some kitchen cabinets.

This thread is popping my posting cherry on these forums. I've been a long time lurker, but I signed up today to check out some threads photos...then I stumbled on your 17 pages and finished them all.

I hope you don't mind but I will be stealing your cabinet/workbench/peg bourd/shelving idea....excellent work on all of that!

I can't believe the before and after from this place. When are you doing the flooring?

Can't wait to see more. Absolutely awesome work!!

Minor update today. I swapped out all my cheap white receptacles with USA made 20a gray receptacles. I also added a GFCI.

I had to register and post reply cause this post just made me LOL. I think I missed the talk as well m8.

Re: this thread, OK, Absolutely stunning and inspiring work! Makes me want to make money to own a house just so I can do up a garage like yours! Also made it quite obvious I'm a guppy compared to the yoda-garage-master here.

EXCELLENT! Another small Indianapolis garage convert here!

I certainly appreciate your efficient use of wall space. Where in town are you? I'm in Broad Ripple.

Ya got my attention on page 4 when ya posted a pic of a Ford sign...ya, I'm a little slow.
I have a lot of Mustang friends over on the Mustang Club of Indy and was just wondering....
What ya gonna park in the garage?
Oh, subscribed!

I used to have a Mustang, now I drive an F150. I do not park anything in the garage.

I was wondering the same thing. I had one of my plugs upgraded to 20a and it was a pretty significant job.
Sounds like you probably had 14 gauge (e.g. white) romex in the wall which is only good for 15 amp. They had to run new wire (12 gauge, e.g. yellow) to give you a 20 amp outlet.
Isn't yellow (12g) Romex all you need for 20a?
Yeah, should be fine.

Not all 12 gage is yellow. Any that I have ever ran has always been white.

e.g. = example
i.e. = id est (had to google for a reminder) which is translated as "that is"

e.g. meant yellow was the example I gave. Had I used i.e., it would have meant that it can only be yellow.

I agree with you that they should always verify the gauge and not trust the wire by color unless they put it in themselves.

Great looking shop! Do you have any details on how you constructed the cabinet doors? It looks just like what I want to achieve for some storage closets. I'm trying not to do the standard kitchen construction technique (border w/ thin ply in a dado) because I think it's a bit above the capabilities of both my table saw and my cabinetry skills, even though that's the look I want.

The inside panel is a piece of birch rabbited on the outside edge. The outside pieces are pine. I just glue all the pieces together and screw together with pocket holes on the back.

Wow this is amazing work! The attention to detail is beyond me. I need to stop staring at the walls in my garage and actually start doing some work. LoL
