It is a Crossman. It's in very sad shape but it will give me something to tear apart indoors when the snow hits.:)

It almost looks like that 760 has a metal action and a wooden stock, am I correct? If so that's really cool, I've only ever seen plastic ones.

If you need internal parts on the 760 Sack, I have a line on a guy that (mostly) has them, even for parts the air gun companies don't supply any more (I bought all the pump, seals and valves for a couple that were more than 30 years out of production...)

I helped a friend move from Texas to Fort Pierce Florida and we hit hit a few yard sales and flea markets since she needed furniture LOL. I picked up a few cheap tools and shipped them all back in one large flat rate box.

The Flohr 20 hog ring pliers and shoe form and stand were $3 from a sale only 2 blocks from her new house. There was the coolest articulating vintage cast iron seat that would attach to a work bench post there but at a $100 I had to pass. Didn't take a picture of it either.

The Estwing hammer was $2 and the two mini anvils were 10 cents each. The anvils were cast by a relative and are rough but cool paperweights.

The Craftsman wood plane has the oval logo and the wood handles were in nice shape. $10 (1/2 price) from a pawn store.

The second pic was from a roadside small fleamarket and everything was a dollar each!

Working Craftsman Crown label 3/8 drill

Craftsman vintage belt driven grinder

Working Sunbeam hand mixer

The hacksaw that is only half in the picture appears to have a Millers Falls logo on it.

Waiting for box #2 to come in the mail!

There was one estate sale today. Got there a few hours after start time and they wouldn't let anyone in until we waited in the cold for about ten minutes. Had to wait until a few people left before we could get in. It wasn't crowded but they were strict.

Prices were more than retail in some cases. Snow shovel $10 for example. And case of seltzer for $10.

I grabbed a few things but figured they would ask $20 and not negotiate (at which point I would walk away empty handed) but to my surprise they asked $4

Here is what I got.

Utica 31
Williams 77
Crescent 1033
Craftsman 1/4" handle
Sk wayne 11/16
Lighter fluid (good for adhesive removal)
NOS Craftsman 1/2" drill chuck.

Not a garage sale or flea market save, got these at the local library on Tuesday. The library has a bin out front for "free material", folks mostly put used magazines there for others to enjoy. Well, that day someone dropped in a pile of cool cars magazines. And not just Hot Rod and Car Craft that you can find almost anywhere, but the specialty street rod mags that I love, like Ol' Skool Rods and Car Kulture Deluxe. Hard to find those titles on the newsstands on the East Coast, most of them are West Coast trades. Anyways, 31 awesome hot rod mags, for FREE. Best deal I got all week.

pics 4-7: all for $8
Blackhawk large Phillips head
Craftsman BBQ sauce brush
3 files, two flat bastards and a round mill
aluminum meat tenderizer
Snap-On awl, never used
Craftsman double ratcheting box wrench, marked "Sears/Craftsman"
MAC combo wrench
two antique DOE wrenches
5 sockets: 1 Craftsman adapter, 1 Proto and 3 Armstrong
1 Lockjaw brand slip-ratcheting open-end wrench

Slow Holiday weekend: Only 5 planned, one was MIA, and only two had anything interesting:

Most came from the first stop:

Countersink bit sets for both straight, and wood screws:

attachment.php

attachment.php

A Williams "S" wrench and two Jorgensen 12" bar clamps

attachment.php

Small 9 X 50 Sportscope spotting scope, and a General numbered dril index, nearly full.

attachment.php

And in the last pic the Master lock which will go on my shed doors. All the above for $25

attachment.php

The wrench rack, 2 6 pt combos, 1/2" drive bit and modified pliers were $2 for all. The pliers are no name vintage/antique, but the mod of the jaws intrigued me. Sorta vicious!

Up here, "Only 5 planned" would be a bonanza this time of year. I searched and searched but came up with nothing worth waking up for this morning. All the saturday flea markets are down to the chinese knock-off and tube sock vendors with New York plates on the vans that drop the "workers" off in the morning.

The local sunday antique FM closes up for the season tomorrow. Well see if any of the vendor's show up in the cold. :dunno:

Nice haul for seasonal dregs, I'm jealous.

Got these two old boxes off of CL today. The guy had a ton of ads listed and I saw te larger al metal box, so I decided to give him a call. Come to find out he bought the contents of an antique store and was blowing the stuff out. He had a TON of cool items, but I had the wife and kid with me so I was speed shopping. The other box with glass looks like it was from a doctor's/dentist's office from back in the day. Not too sure about the larger metal one. I'm thinking rail road:dunno:?? Anyone have a clue?

Mid to late '60's. That's the exact model my Dad has. There was a styrofoam insert to keep everything in place.

I learned to solder with that iron!

My picking for a couple of runs.

A 2-1/4" gasket punch, some little clamps $ 5

Moving sale- Not much and had to dig for these, Klien side cutters & needle nose, the other side is Cresent, a almost full General drill index, misc Klien screwdrivers $ 7

Same sale, didnt have enough change for a 20, so I had to get this box of wire for another $ 4.Had some othe rthings in it that are not pictured

From a estate sale " three shed full of tools & fishing" Theywere right, they were full, firdt shed had a skunk in it, so I passed, second shed had lost the roof in a hurricane, 9 years ago, all I found was the body dies, the rest was from the third shed, all for $ 8. THis also included a small battery load tester.

Not a whole lot, but all good old US stuff.

Nothing a little vineger and salt wont cure.

Cbacre, those 4 clamps are I beam clamps for use with all-thread and hanging pipe, ducting and the like. still make decent small C clamps though!

And I really like your 20 drawer unit under the plywood!

Outlaw,
I figuired out the clamps after looking at them a while, they are older and a lot better quality than most of the ones bought today. I'll use on close quarter work.

Wish you were close, I'd make you a hell of a deal on the drawers.

They are all wood, but sturdy.

I was forced to buy them a few weeks back.
I had found one of the drawers full of drill bits and the price giving was $ 5.00. Guy said how about 25 for the whole bank.
Didnt even look at the rest, took hin up on the offer.
Turned out to be 3 completly full drawrs of bits.
Not to mention all the other items.
I'm taking it to auction this week, I'm lucky enough to have a couple of vidmars to store this kind of stuff.

Well... as most of my posts weren't technically from "garage sales" but rather "estate sales"--the finds continue. I slept on this one and didn't bother rushing to get to the sale-but here are the proceeds from the day.. All is available if interested..

Very nice Brown & Sharpe Digital Caliper--brand new.. Just had a dead battery

I decided today's Drill index deserved a couple more better pics, as its' pretty unique in my experience. Not to mention it may give JJ another excuse for another Beer or three... ;)

Index Closed:

attachment.php

and opened. Notice the folding label tabs:

attachment.php

It has a patent no on the first tab for the drill cabinet; US 2,269,637 granted Jan. 13, 1942... no clue when this particular box was made. :dunno:

Top row folded back, and the next tab labels the next two rows:

attachment.php

and a final label for tap drill sizes:

attachment.php

The red crud seems to be wax of some sort. most of it came right off, I need to work at the rest...

Those are some interesting boxes you have there. The glass one could be a something from the medical field or possibly housed a scale at one time. It looks to be the right dimension but with the back being solid, it's most likely medical.

The other box could be anything but i've seen similar attached to really old cranes and steam shovels as toolboxes for servicing various parts of the equipment.

Mid 60's at earliest judging from the blow-mold box. I still have mine, a Christmas present in about '63. But, they were made for a long time. Look for a copyright date on the tag.

Lately I've had trouble reselling Kennedy tool boxes, and machinists' chests in general. I think it must be due to fact that so many GM-related factories shut down over the last many years in the greater Dayton, Ohio region. LOTS of tool makers have been out of work for 20+ years now. Sad.

As expected, not much to dig though today. The hunting season is officially over up here.

The local flea market was open for one last day. Cold w/freezing drizzle, but about 30 tables still set up. And then covered everything to keep it dry and hide the goods from the few buyers milling around. I did find a small arbor press (missing the anvil). The yoke is 6" tall and 3 1/4" deep. He wanted $20 firm, but when I promply put it down and walked away, he suddenly decided that he had some wiggle room. I got it for $13. :D

After the FM I stopped at an estate sale I ignored from yesterday in a high scale area, just to pass some time. VERY expensive wares, but the tools were all what I consider cheap throwaway junk. The shop tools were mostly cheap brands from the 90's. Not worth the asking price, even at 50% off. It was like everything on his workbench was bought at the Dollar Store, and then abused. I did manage to find a pair of 3/4" Pony pipe clamps hiding in a corner though. They were 5' long and in good shape. I paid $12 for the pair.

.

Hey All, first post. I figured this would be a good one! I was at a flea market the other day. I took a look in an old bin under a table to find this.

And a Snap-on 1/4 extension set, with tray. Missing only the 11" extension. (came with some no-name extension in its spot)

Had to head out of town but found a route that went right by a flea market (you know you're addicted to tool sales when you plan trips around them).

First stop 18 lb anvil and miller falls arbor
ymazaqy2.jpg

Yes I did find my first anvil last week but after looking all year for one it is hard to resist when one turns up. I'll probably sell this one.
Here are some close ups.

e2eru2u3.jpg

eqerapat.jpg

y3y6ubuq.jpg

Surface is a bit beat up. Can't find any maker mark on it.

$32 for both. Arbor had broken oil cup which I already replaced.

Next purchase was $5 for two well worn stanley 750 chisels missing handles. 1" and 1 1/4"
9arajuju.jpg

This morning on way back home I found an estate sale only 5 mins from the hotel and for $3.18 got 2 dell power supplies (good to have spares) plus some other stuff. Apparently in MD they charge 6% tax at estate sales. That was a first for me.

I am going to put my Italian/German auto knife collection in at least one of the boxes. Probably the glass one. It also came with two shelves which are still in the back seat of my truck.

Good call on the crane/steam shovels. It was definitely used for outdoor use because of the sloped top. I will be leaving it indoors for now:thumbup:.
