Hi Steve,
Good to see your doing a thread on your garage, i am glad you see the positive in the model a just wish the wife would as well, it did come with an cowel and some other parts which is a bonus.

Mrs 1/2 Cup yells at me for five minutes then gets over it.
Actually I have seen some positive steps in her development lately (after 35 years I might add), she is actually becoming a mini me when it comes to seeing the potential in something like the A or antiques.

Thanks for the birthday wishes guys, So the wife and i have decided to head over to America again next year so i have to cut down on my weekly hunt's for goodies,
But that always seems to be when all the bargains pop up. This weekend i scored a couple of items at great prices and one of the scores led to a heap more if all goes well.

I now have 5 of these radios but i am a big coca cola fan.

Also this last week i decided to start building another shed, it is going to be 15m x 7m wide so i will be able to put another 9 vehicles in it. I won't be concreting the ground as it will only be used as a storage shed, i just need more room in the main shed to get some other vehicles finished. It won't be anything fancy as most of the materials will be second hand and i will just colourbond paint it later on. I will load some pics of it in the next couple of days, until then have a great day GJ people. Lee

You really have issues:lol: storage for 9 vehicles:drool: plus you will need the extra wall space for all those signs I am guessing.

Finally someone agrees with my wife about my problems, I just hope when they send me to the padded cells there is enough room for more vehicles:lol_hitti
What are the plans for the flood levels with this new shed ?
No plans for the floods just get the vehicles out and just wash down the shed and go again Simon. Hopefully by the end of next year we will be out of here and in to another property.

Good to see another Coke collector, i lost alot in the floods of 2011 but i still have a fair bit, i dedicated a 90 square meter room just for it but now every thing is just packed away in case of another flood it will be easy to move.

Thanks akdiesel, as for the cars it is a tight fit but that's ok they are only in their getting stored so i don't need any room around them, but stacking them would mean i could fit more in which means i could go and buy more, i will tell my wife you suggested that.:lol::lol:

I found a pic on the internet of our property about a year in from us purchasing it, you can see we had stripped the house down and blue boarded it for render, also we added a couple of loads of soil to split the yard into three levels and widen the second level for the shed. Lee

Also a table the wife and i made out of some old railway sleepers that we ripped down the middle and part of a nice tree trunk we split into four and used as the legs, only problem is it takes four guys to lift it, we made it for my wifes mother but she said it was to big so we will use it for a table where the bbq is, looks like i will be making chairs for it when i get a chance. I finally picked up my table, it was originally used at Queensland rail for building the old rail coaches, the guy i bought it off was a carpenter in the rail for 35 years and after he left he purchased it when they where having a liquidation sale.

Lee, stop posting all that great stuff you buy, its doing my head in, i am going to take some deep breaths then have a lay down now.

I won't post anymore for at least a week after this one Steve, that's when my other items arrive from the States :bounce:

unbelievable, i scour gumtree etc and get nothing, probably cause you beat me to it ! , well done mate , im very jealous

Thanks Bogan_of_Oz,

I was just down your way and that was where i found the Kfc sign. My advice is stay off Gumtree if you want to keep the wife happy, me personally i like to piss mine off a little.:D:D

So nothing has arrived yet from the U S of A but that doesn't stop me from looking locally, we have in Australia a website called Gumtree which is the equivalent of Craigslist in the America. And this little item i have been chasing for about a year now, i always seem to be 10 minutes late to the party when finding one for sale and it seem to be the case this time but the guy rang me back to tell the other buyer backed out, i jumped in the car and drove the 130km each way to grab it.

And the old Banner they used at Famosa raceway at the Hotrod reunion in 2009, just don't know where to hang this with out it ever taring the eyelets out, maybe thinking of using some plywood as a support and maybe double sided tape to hold it to it.

I recently bought a model a off a gentleman that had a couple others he was doing up, he was wanting some rust repairs done so i offered to help him out so this is where i am up to so far.
The firewall had a large split along the seam and also some cracks and some holes that needed filling.

Had alot of problems with pitting in the welds, i think it is just the old metal as it has happened a couple of times over the years with real early stuff.
024_zps96167d62.jpg

I then had to start making up the lower section down near the kick panel, not fun.
025_zpsc242c0a9.jpg

A lot of different angles to work out and not much of a pattern to go off.
