There always seems to be two or three similar ads floating around on my local Craigslist. Cheap, flux core only welders or Lincoln buzz boxes priced at 90-95% of retail.
When I found my 210MVP, I felt like I struck gold. NIB with Hobart auto-dark helmet and coat (didn't fit) for $300 less than I could find one new--and he gave me the receipt (for warranty).
But, I searched for it. There were tons and tons of welders, used and NIB, that were all about the price of a new one (or even more). I found a beat up old stick welder yesterday I think for more than you can get a new Hobart for.
The market for used stuff is really bad on CL in my area. Someone else had a no-name miter saw for $180, lots of no name cheap benchtop drill presses for $100, all kinds of **** at terrible prices. I see HF stuff all the time for more than HF sells them for, after they've been used hard.
Oh well. eBay and new stuff I guess for me.
