I don't know if Craftsman ever had an $8500 tool box, did they?

Wow, how about this one?

http://denver.craigslist.org/tls/4210538352.html

No offers, please. You can buy the newer version on Amazon for $177 to your door:

Someone else has a Lincoln 125HD for $400, or you can buy one at Home Depot for $419.

How about $2250 for these nice hand tools:

Hopefully there are some gems in there. They have some grinders on another couple ads.

Ugh.

First stupid question I want to ask him if the box has grease galleries that take grease from the wheels and move it to the slides, becuase that is something I would expect if that box costs 8500.

Why would anyone pay $8500 for a box that leaks ? He didn't even remove the oil pan before he took the picture ! :lol_hitti

There seem to be a large number of poor, desperate, and not-too-bright people in Colorado at the moment. Wait until you see the guy trying to sell a broken, dismantled, import air compressor pump (only) for $150. You know your local economy is in trouble when pawn shops and ebay have better deals than craigslist.

I see people in your area are much like those in mine. I've seen a guy around here trying to sell a US General tool cart as a Matco box. Apparently, we are all to believe if the emblem is on the box it is real.

There always seems to be two or three similar ads floating around on my local Craigslist. Cheap, flux core only welders or Lincoln buzz boxes priced at 90-95% of retail.

When I found my 210MVP, I felt like I struck gold. NIB with Hobart auto-dark helmet and coat (didn't fit) for $300 less than I could find one new--and he gave me the receipt (for warranty).

But, I searched for it. There were tons and tons of welders, used and NIB, that were all about the price of a new one (or even more). I found a beat up old stick welder yesterday I think for more than you can get a new Hobart for.

The market for used stuff is really bad on CL in my area. Someone else had a no-name miter saw for $180, lots of no name cheap benchtop drill presses for $100, all kinds of **** at terrible prices. I see HF stuff all the time for more than HF sells them for, after they've been used hard.

Oh well. eBay and new stuff I guess for me. :dunno:

That looks like a craftsman professional box, that started life out blue. It also deeper that any box I've ever heard at 36" deep.

The box is 30" deep. it is pretty much the same size a KRL 1022. We know the guy is a idiot so why would we expect him to be able to measure.

This just goes to show the rest of the nation that legalizing marijuana has changed the way people think. Not that drug use is the only factor in not having common sense, logic,or ability to grasp an economic concept.

"Saw one just like it on Ba]rret-Jacsen go fer dis prise, so I knew wat I got. Dont try to looball me!" And the other ad for the assorted tools for @2250, come on, folks. That bucket with the semi-rusty stuff must be worth $500 and the drawers with the rusty stuff must be close to $400-$600. Just ask the seller.
