Gearwrench doesn't promote their screwdrivers much, but i actually think they are very nice. Those have magnetic shafts too.

i think that is pretty rare price on wera? the cheapest 6pc wera set seems to be about $30.

Yes, very nice. I'm definitely going to have to run over after work and pick up a set.

How's the storage case on these? Is it good enough that the whole set will sit in a tool chest nicely? The Craftsman stuff is usually flimsy throw away stuff. But that Gearwrench looks pretty sturdy.

I see you have the hex on the shaft on those screwdrivers. On the slotted ones, it looks like the slotted blade is wider than the size a box/ratcheting wrench would fit around.

It might just be the photos, what size is the hex bolster? can you fit a box end over those blades?

Same here, but I'm going for a set of these anyway. It's time to replace some of the old ones I have been using.

I got 'em for 30% off during the Zorotools Black Friday sale, but still, they're originally $21. Cheapest of the Wera sets, but seem to be good quality, COO is the Czech Republic, which is one of their factories is located (i.e. not some rebrand).

Are the letters on handle printed or molded? I've read somewhere that the GearWrench letterings on the screwdriver handle dissolves upon contact with certain chemicals.

The letters are molded, but I picked up a ph2 x8" and noticed it had a different logo on the handle that was printed. Not sure which style is newer, but I like the molded better.

Compare this handle to the one pictured in post #8 of this thread. The below pic is the printed version.

Picked up the last set at my local AA today. They had a lot of dust on them and weren't marked down on the rack, but rang up at the right price.

A very nice set overall. Well worth the price in my opinion.

I have rather large hands and the Gearwrench are much easier to grip for me than any of the Snap On & CM screwdrivers I have.

Thanks for the heads up. i stopped in a grabbed the only set they had. There was so much dust on the package that they looked to have been there for at least a year.

Great buy on a quality product. As far as a non American made screwdriver they are top notch. I sold several sets of these when I was in the tool business and had no complaints at all. A perfect set for someone who didn't want to spend the money on a truck brand screwdriver.

I've always said these comfort grip Gearwrench screwdrivers were sort of a "hidden gem" since GW rarely promotes them but I've had really good experience with them.

in case anyone here is interested, i have an extra Gearwrench 20pc master screwdriver set i don't need, never opened (already have a couple of sets of these in my tool boxes), and they are the older kind with the "Gearwrench" logo moulded into the handle, not printed. PM me if interested.

Just wanted to say Thanks to the OP, picked up a set. Nice set and case, for those that are wanting to store in a service cart side hole, the Larger size, has a 5" or 5"+ size handle, so it might hit most cart lids.

FYI, if your in Advance, you may want to pick up some Valvoline Syn Oil, it's BOGO ~$4.50 qt. I don't think there's a limit...

I bought a set and they are awesome! Handles are very much like Wiha 3K ACO, and they are made in Taiwan like the Gearwrench set.

Yep, they are large screwdrivers. Good for heavy duty work. I think they would survive mechanic work very well. Not that a mechanic would ever use one for anything other than turning screws. :lol2:
