I picked up a " Peak " as in the "antifreeze" people, 600 CCA, back last winter, it will barely assist start any of our small equipment (nothing larger than 26hp). Its all they offered at the store I was at. I should have shopped, but didnt, and paid for it !
I will "tickle" the starter on my 6.0L Suburban, when the battery runs down, you can hear the solenoid (rattling), same goes for any of the other full size vehicles/equipment around here. Its absolutely worthless, and Im talking plugged in/charged for days, fresh, its worthless. It might charge your cell phone. I think it was around $60, Id say it would be a good deal at $6, but like I said, it would not even turn over my 48' Toro Riding mower with a dead battery !!!!! I think the toro has a 140cca battery in it, its that small, and still wont even try to engage the starter.
The last one I bought at the Farm Store prior to the "Peak" was a "Vector" brand, same 600cca, and it performed well for about 4 years, and would start anything we have around here, if the battery in the vehicle had not been dead for months.
Im in the market for a new one, or at least one that works, but not sure what brand to buy. These companies change brands, names, channels of distribution, so often, its hard to keep track of whats **** and what works
Id like to add, look at the "clamps" if they are plastic, stay away, if the are metal, probably a better built unit..
I looked at the 3 on Amazon, I like the Clore, where you get one repair after warranty, that would win me over, Im might buy that one. Thanks for posting Signcrafter !
