I was initially contacted by this member responding to a wanted thread i had posted in the classifieds. He said he had a item i was looking for (snap on stubby phillips) and gave me a price and said he would ship it out that day once he got payed through PayPal. He was very quick to respond and on top of communication. Within a few days i noticed he has posted a 7 piece Green Hard Handle Snap On Screwdriver set in the classifieds.

We worked out a price and he requested payment through paypal as a gift. I did not feel comfortable sending paypal as a gift as I have been screwed over through that once before. He finally gave me a alternate paypal account to send it through as a regular payment. That should have been a sign to me that something was not right.

After payment I tried to confirm with him that he had received it and when the tools would be shipping out. I got a "Got It" response from him and thats where the communication stopped.

A week went by and I had not seen anything. He only lived i the state over from me so shipping should have taken 2-3 days max even with ground. I requested a tracking number from him twice with no response. I could see through is profile that he had been online and was posting in other threads.

I sent a third request for a tracking number and told him if i did not get a response i was going to open a dispute with paypal. I used the read receipt and it confirmed he looked at the message but again did not respond.

I opened a dispute with paypal and contacted a moderator on GJ. He responded to the moderator here and told him he would message me and refund my money. I got the money back through the paypal dispute but he never responded to me here. I am glad i did not send the money as a gift as I would have had no recourse and been out of the money.

He has a bunch of classified ads right now for Snap on tools. Hopefully no one else gets screwed over by him like I did.

I don't know what to do. I paid as gift, I have never had any problems from any members here, I guess I'm to trusting. Maybe he will come through, but it isn't looking good right now.

Aw ****....bought a set of locking pliers from him to add to my sons set late last week. Paid for the pliers and didn't think much more about it. Then noticed he hadn't updated his for sale thread as most sellers do. Sent a pm asking him to verify he received payment and he replied that he had. Was thinking he was simply a slow shipper. I didn't pay by gift so I figure I'm covered. Just hope he comes through.

Man.. I was getting ready to jump on some of his current listing, something about the pictures and being described as New turned me off. I hope everything works out for everyone..

We really need a sticky in the classifieds section warning of gift payments.

Buyers listen up; any seller, especially newer & low post count members, who demand gift payments should be avoided in my opinion. If fees are that important then they can be added to a regular item purchase transaction easily enough.

I sold some stuff to him, OP was the screwdriver a green stubby? He wanted some other stuff and then never responded.

Check out the picture in the for sale thread, Here

Then notice he says in the first post "New 3/8 f80 I have two $75 each shipped

936 great shape I have a few $50each

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk"

Now look at this picture of my ad Here

Notice how my description is much different"nap on F936 Functionally work well, 2 have engraved lines on the top and other three have had the owners markers removed sides(chrome removed)"

So he is selling them in great shape and not mentioning the engravings and using my pictuers. Also he only has one ratchet, he thought it was 27 for all 5 when it was 27 each, so I still have 4 of them. FYI

Just got a PM from him saying his wife took my package to the PO today and he would send tracking in the AM. Hopefully he is being truthful. We shall see.

I bought a SO ratchet set 4 days ago,,,paid by PayPal immediately . Next day I messaged him twice to ask when and how he will be shipping...no response .. Yesterday ,, I said this was the last time I was going to ask him about my tools...he said he was away a couple of days and would get it out today and supply me with a shipping #.. Now...he has been on this forum off and on all weekend,,so he is around. I told him I was getting a moderator and PayPal on his ***..he said when he got home he would refund the money when he got on a computer...wth! He's on the forum! Do it now.! So a moderator messaged him for me and I contacted PayPal and complained..... Got my money refunded suddenly! Stay away from him/her!

Well if its was the same one it wasn't new, I bought it in a lot of tools, and used it, then gave it to him as a freebie with some other stuff I sold him.

He's online right now and just violated the 72 hr bump rule for his for sale thread. Maybe there's somebody out there that hasn't lost their money yet...

Damn, I'm reading this a bit late. I paid for a few things... This doesn't look good.

I've been down these roads before, and should have known better, but hope he comes to his senses and refunds our money. I was really hoping not to have issues like this with tools of all things!!! It's usually not a good idea to pull scams like this, it makes so many people mad!

If someone sold to him, they have his address and possibly real name. Send some local GJ'ers over to kick some sense into him...

I ALWAYS request a standard payment for two reasons, first is everyone is covered by paypal protection, second is I can print a shipping label directly from paypal unlike using a gift payment when there is NO shipping option...

I purchased and paid for a ratchet a few days ago. It looked suspicious when he didn't update his thread. Also no response since then. No tracking number either. I'm glad I didn't pay using the gift option.

After he/she had some pressure put on him from PayPal and a mod ...I did get my money back...
Note: after I paid for the tool,,,nor correspondence back to me, didn't update his post saying sold on the item, ,,,,,,,then after I get my money back, I messaged him saying finally, about time, he responds with " You and another guy you act like I robbed you it has been 4 days and when you asked for a refund you got it what is the problem want to ask all my customers all the good reviews?" , I replied back to him and said " yea ,,, look at the others concerned about you.....since then he has been private messaging a whole lot...

You all should keep bumping this thread to keep the pressure on, sounds like a crook to me, using all the angles for sure.

Wow, I've never really looked at the Classifieds on this board. I had to idea they got such good responses from buyers. Hmm, maybe I'll have to rummage around for some things to sell.

Are you guys serious. I just sent $275 for some stuff. Who ever has his address and name please PM me with it. I will contact the local PD and paypal. I was stupid and did the gift method to save the fees.

I guess add me to the list of concern.

I sent payment for the Snap on Green racing screwdrivers last Sunday (9 days ago)... I never use the gift option for this exact reason, so I added 3% to the price.

When I initially saw the ad I thought the price was almost too good to be true. I did some research on the board looking for feedback. At the time I didn't come across anything negative or positive so I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

I contacted him last night asking for information and never received a PM back but did receive a notification in my Paypal email saying the item was shipped with a tracking number. I guess we will see what happens. I'll keep everyone updated.

All-just spoke with paypal. Even if it is sent as a gift to family and friends you are still covered. They said everything thru paypal is covered. I have a 10 day window for him to resolve the claim. If he does not paypal refunds the money and then they do whatever it is they do to recover the funds. So if you sent him money as a gift call paypal on the phone, file a claim, and you will be covered. Also worth noting he is not paypal verified.

He got me for $275 this morning. I feel better knowing in 10 days I get it back, but would rather the items instead.

Wish I saw this thread before I sent the money, but thanks for putting this out there so I wasn't waiting on nothing. It really ***** there's people like this out there. I know some of you are great sellers and wish I was buying your stuff.

I was just refunded my money for the ratchet. I had to open a dispute through paypal though. I guess it was too good to be true. I suspect since he didn't update his thread it was probably an item he didn't even have on hand.

Who else bought the (2) three piece ratchet sets and Prybar set that I did? I paid $275. Anyone get a better deal than me? This *****. A name would be good so we can contact the local PD as well. He's gotten a pretty good amount of money from us. Maybe felony level by now. I think $600 is the norm in most states. I didn't check NY

I bought a 3 set of ratchets from "him/her/"it",,,,and was never marked sold on his post. I offered $110 and "it" accepted.

So any chance seller was selling before they had the items? Would like to hear sellers side of the story. Either way, I'm expecting my money back. These things never work well for the scam artist as they have no idea who they are scamming. Waiting for a refund...

I believe that may be the case as he was listing items for sale that he planned to buy from me.
