Replaced the wife's valve cover gasket. The car no longer smells like exhaust and burning oil every time it's sitting still. She has such bad allergies she swears she could never smell it.

Test fitted my roof light bar on the blazer and then took it apart, just need to enlarge the holes in the front where I'm sticking four amber leds as marker lights. I had to go out this afternoon and buy a decent 12mm drill as mine was blunt, so I treated myself to a nice set of titanium coated ones, 1 to 10mm in 0.5mm increments and a seperate 11 and 12 mm.
I also spent some quality time with one of my boys whilst his twin was out at the supermarket with his mum. We spent half an hour or so going through all my drill bits that were just chucked in one big tin box and seprated them out, the wood spade bits are now in a little wodden box that once held Turkish delight that was the perfect size, all cleaned and oiled by my able assistant, masonry bits in a little metal box that once held a cheap 1/4" drive socket set, and the HSS ones in a bigger metal box that once held a 1/2" drive socket set. Still need to find a suitable box for some other wood bits. Then we had a tidy up, wiped the steel top of the bench down with some WD40, filled all the bird feeders from around the garden and came in for a warm up and some lunch.

Retrofitted the headlights from a Snapper 1028 snow blower to my 8260. The pics are misleading. The lights are a lot brighter than they look. I also used some 1/8" haircell finish black ABS to extend the sides of the chute 3". I hoped to reduce the amount of snow that "leaks" out the sides & drifts back in your face. It worked pretty well when I ran it tonight.
They're phone pics so they aren't too good, but you get the idea...

I picked all the metal up at our local steel supply dealer's scrap pile. I look there before I go to the remnant stacks. I think the legs, cross braces and the top was about $45 bucks. I always go for the odd lengths and rejected pieces off their plasma cutting table to keep the cost down. I had to square up the top because it was part of a weird piece. I would guess the retail price on the same standard length pieces and top would be about $100 - $125. Primer and paint are rattle can Rust O, and what I always keep around for my tools and equipment. The wheels are HF at about $4.50 each with discount coupon

Helped the neighbor interpret results from scanning his Dodge pickup. Turns out he got an exhaust from his scrap yard buddy, no catalytic converter. Guess that's why it did not complete some tests. Result - no help with his truck, but I'll burn him a CD with software that came with my code reader (same model).

While changing oil on my F150, noticed I had a broken front spring. Got some new loaded shocks and slapped them. Pretty damn easy to change and for a 9 year old truck from Wisconsin, everything came apart nicely.

Got rid of the cement blocks I had piled in front of the door as steps. This looks much nicer and will work a little better for my dogs once I install a pet door here.

Slapped four coats of satin black rattle can paint on my Blazer roof light bar, then I mucked out her car and gave it a good wash and also washed the winters green slime off my project pickup truck. Heading back out there now for a bit of tidying.

Finally had enough people over, and nice enough weather, to try out "The Beer Hole".

Spent 4 hours changing the oil and fixing the pull starter on the Honda recon. The 3 8mm bolts that hold the starter take all the extensions I own to reach. The oil change was easy of course. The bolt was loose in the center of the starter causing it to make a pinging sound at mid rpms

changed the oil and checked the brakes on the Honda Civic all so cleaned
the head lights. Got to get it inspected Monday and renew the license plates.
Then went out to the shop and did some scrapping . Now I got about 15lbs. so aluminum and 5lbs. of small peace of steel.
I used the oil from the Honda to treat the trailer wood ,I try to do this each fall but didn't get to it last year.

With 6 -8 inches due tomorrow I got the snow blower running again. I just rebuilt the carb this fall. last snow it was running until I ran out of gas. gassed it up and it would only run with the choke on full. pulled it apart and cleaned it out … runs good again. not bad for a 17 year old 2 stroke. I guess it was done working for the season.

In my work sheds I did complete service on 12 MSF motorcycles, plus changed 11 clutch/brake levers, 3 tires, two clutch cables and various minor fixes. Busy 8 hours.

Spent most of Saturday working on a classic Mini Cooper, we installed an entire new exhaust system from the head to the rear bumper, which required removing the intake man and carb too.
Once that was done I rewired his fog and driving lights, I had drawn him a schematic last time I was over but all he seemed to do was let the smoke out of his wires and mew switches. I started over again and when it was done....let there be lights!
New exhaust out of the boxes....
Exhaust in and done...sounds great too!
Time to get started on the lights.....

Waxed my skis!
Got about 65% done with my new landing. Still need to build new stairs and stain but the uprights, compressor location and cable rails are fitted just like I wanted! Stairs should come in the next few weeks but staining and paint will have to wait until April-ish
