I think I might have gone overboard with the recent sears deals. Wish I had ordered the industrial wrenches sooner.

Why do I feel a warm glow in my heart when I look at that picture? Something is wrong with me.

Time for me to go to work now, something is broken that needs to be fixed.

Wait, the extensions are on blow out too? Are they industrial or just "regular" Craftsman?

They were on sale, and I need a few extra bucks to use a coupon. I paid like $3 each for those extensions... unfortunately they are made in China so they are being returned. Even the 1/4" spinner handle was made in China. I found that odd considering I have only seen USA ones in the stores.

I got 2 sets of the stubby wrenches with the intentions to sell/gift both sets.. but after seeing them, I'm VERY tempted to keep a set for myself.

Nice. I see you got the Stubby set, plus the extra 22MM Industrial Stubby. That's what I got.

For anyone that got the Stubby set, the 22MM single Industrial Stubby is almost an exact match to the set, makes a great add on piece.

Also, a couple times a year, the 1 inch Industrial Stubby goes on sale for less than 3 bucks. I got that also, and that makes a great add on.

Oh, and you didn't go overboard. Go back and look at the website right now. Most of the stuff you bought is already sold out, or the price has been jacked up. You bought quick, and are going to now return a few specific pieces you don't want. That's the way to do it on the Sears website. Act fast, then if you change your mind, just return to the store.

I should receive my 4 deep offsets wrenches and 2 metric flex ratcheting wrenches today. My metric cross force wrenches should be here Friday. Still debating on the standard cross force wrenches, I've got 10 in my cart and if I use points, I can get them for about $65 shipped which is pretty good. Decisions, Decisions!!!!!!!!

The Cross Force wrenches are still at the lower price, with the 15% off online discount, and currently not considered a Hot Buy (which will allow you to stack coupons).

If/when they jack up the price of the Cross Forces, remove the 15% online discount, and make it a Hot Buy (to block the use of coupons). Then no way it's going to be $65 shipped anymore.

Save the points. How often do you use SAE wrenches? But if you use them often or like having both metric and SAE in everything you buy, you better get them now because prices are going up! What 2 flex ratcheting wrenches did you get?

I got the 13mm and 17mm flex ratcheting. I've got the whole set of standard flex ratcheting wrenches, but the metric were not available at Sears Outlet and to buy the whole set now cost around $200! I'll slowly piece together a whole set of metric's now that I'll have 2 of the 7 pieces!

I ordered the 1/4 14" extension online a while back and it was the USA made product. However, I wish I had taken a picture because the inner portion had so many casting bumps that I couldn't fit a ratchet into it. Go to exchange for a new one and all in stock where China, which were all 100 times better manufactured. The majority talk about the USA quality and i agree most of the time, but this took the cake.

I did the same thing. My local Sears store is dicounting these wrenches in no particular order. I pick different sizes up as they go on sale.

I've had similar experiences with a few USA socket sets I've found on the shelves. Casting bumps and crud built up so much that the socket wouldn't fit the nut... or I've also seen some chromed on the inside of the socket and some completely bare. Looks like an quality control issue when there is a mix of both in the same set.

A little off topic, but for you guys like me that haven't been keeping up with the Gearwrench.com Hot Deals thread, Gearwrench just updated it yesterday. I don't believe these were listed before, but the 5 pc metric ratcheting "S" shaped obstruction wrench set and the 7 pc sae flex head ratcheting stubby set, are listed and are rediculously cheap compared to anywhere else! I ordered both sets. Not made in the USA but Gearwrench is still a high quality piece! Just a heads up!

Yeah, the free shipping is for orders $40 and above. I made the mistake of ordering the S wrenches first, then deciding on the stubbies. Only $4 for shipping on the stubbies, so not really complaining! :bounce:

I am eagerly waiting for the brown truck to show up with my second order. I got a full set of black oxide for work, and filled out full polish for home.

Nice! Too bad they didn't have more of the Deep Offset Wrenches. I don't need to use them all the time, but when I do they pay for themselves!

How are those deep industrial sockets differ from current easy to read sockets?

I was happy with the quality of the industrial sockets. I can't stand the "easy read" on the side of the current sockets. Luckily industrial sockets don't have the huge number on the side, just the usual imprint along the bottom of the socket.

Got my two Metric deep offset wrenches. (didn't get the Inch).

The 21 x 23, that sucker is huge! I can't believe I paid $6.99 for that thing. There's got to be that much money just in melt value of the steel. And $2.99 for the 10 x 11.

I hope they list some more of the deep offsets.

I should have taken a picture of how mine came for free store pickup. Two single wrenches thrown in a gigantic box. The box was so big, it barely fit in my trunk. I can't figure this free ship to store thing. Both of my shipments where shipped to the store UPS. So how can they be making any money with free to store shipping, using UPS, for ten bucks worth of wrenches. I'm sure UPS ain't shipping for free. Sears must be eating that. I'm sure they get better UPS rates to ship to the Sears store compared to shipping to my house, but it's still got to cost them.

ratchets non reversible

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00940064000P

bought the 1/2 and 3/8 roundhead ratchets. usa industrial. Compared to the 1/2, the 3/8 is 3"+ shorter and smaller. it looked like a 1/4 size. I didn't realize this, but both ratchets are not reversible, so you can only use them to tighten, not loosen, really? So it is just half useful?

They're reversible. Hold onto 2 of the 3 ridges on the black top center and rotate.

I got my second order of stuff yesterday, including the 21 x 23. It is huge. Also a nice companion to my Sahlwille metric offsets, which go up to a 20 x 22.

I thought they would take it out of the box to make sure it was correct and just give you the tools? The stuff I had shipped to the store before they always did. Usually they put a sticker on it and or put it in a plastic bag.

This set is awesome. I have one.

Coupon code stacking works.

Add to cart. Then add SAVE15 to save $15 off $75, then pull the coupon in your Shop Your Way Rewards for a bonus $15 in points for $75.

$84.99 - $15 = $64.99, plus $15 in points for a future purchase.

PS - this is a good add on purchase to the set, a single 22MM stubby (even though the price went up on the Industrials):

I was looking at summit racing prices for the Cman Industrials that Sears didn't have, and am thinking about just completing the set with USA Cman Professional.

Courious if anyone has done this? Doesn't seem to be a big difference except for the stamp in the middle...

Grainger has some of the missing sizes as well, but in the matching Industrial design.

Stamping is the only difference. With this deal, I now have full sets of both styles. Professionals has "USA" on the front, while Industrial's "USA" is on the back of the wrench. They all look identical outside of the stamping.

From what I read, it's cheaper to piece together the set at Summit rather than Grainger, unless you plan on ordering other things from Grainger to bring shipping costs down on the wrenches.

Shipping was like $8 for me for 4 wrenches, and they're coming in at least 3 different packages. I'd call that pretty reasonable.

that's the first thing i tried but it doesn't turn counter-clockwise. Craftsman item # is 9-23809 for 1/2 drive and 9-23803 for 3/8 drive.

http://www.grainger.com/product/CRAFTSMAN-INDUSTRIAL-Hand-Ratchet-5ZFR7

Technical Specs

  • Item Hand Ratchet
  • Drive Size 3/8"
  • Reversing Non-Reversing
  • Head Movement Fixed
  • Head Style Round
  • Overall Length 6-7/8"

So you can only use the ratchets for tightening. Maybe I'll return these.

Non-Reversing? That makes no sense. All I can think of is that maybe there is some specific "Industrial" purpose that would be needed, to make absolutely sure that you tighten and not loosen. Maybe so an aircraft wing doesn't fall off or something?
