Lowes/Kobalt wrench rails

Lowes in my area now carries a 2-pack of "wrench storage rails", #516039, very similar in form/function to the Ernst wrench rails. They are not magnetic, but have a flat bottom you could use double-sided tape or magnetic tape to stick. Less than $7 each, so it's about a wash once you add your method vs buying the Ernst rails.

I have been trying to figure out how to organize all my wrenches, and I bought two packs and this is definitely the way to go for a toolbox. Holds them nice and tight and you can organize them in two directions (larger/smaller or smaller/larger), cut out segments for groups of odd-size/quantity wrenches like flare nut wrenches, etc. This seems to be the highest density and most flexible way to store wrenches outside of the home-made wire coils/etc.

They're not online yet for some reason. Ernst photo attached.

Oh and specs please? Do they have two different colors? And how many does in section do? Does two pack mean two rails or two sets?

I bought a couple of sets myself from the local Lowes about two weeks ago. They work really well for organizing my cobbled together band of misfit wrenches. I think the package is still in the garage and will take a photo later. Mine are black or a really dark gray. I only saw the one color. They only had 2 sets on the rack and I bought them both.

A 1" GW wrench on the rail is just under 2" tall. Largest size I have in the house and its 20 degrees with 30mph winds so I'm not going outside :p

It's kinda frustrating none of the cabinets sold by Menards/HF/etc. have two large top drawers. It'd be great to have like the 4.5" full-length drawer on top for sockets, and a 3" full length drawer below for wrenches.

One set = two rails. 20 wrenches fit on the set.

Ditto! Must be the put-out quantity :)

I have those from SO. They are all I use in my main box and I really like them. I find buy with these and being able to cut to length, they are the best way to fit as many wrenches as possible in a drawer while staying organized.

I'm running by my storage in a bit, might have to drop by Lowes and see if they have any of these in stock. If they do I can get some pics and compare to the Snap On set I have.

I picked up a couple of sets of the Kobalt organizers today to help organize my mess of wrenches. They were $15 after tax for two sets. I can't find any complaints quality wise; the plastic seems like it will be very durable. I don't like buying Chinese ****, but I can't find Ernst locally. Honestly though, I have been impressed with Kobalt's organizing products. I will probably end up buying Ernst gripper racks for my smaller sets (not pictured) as I feel they will work better.

I ended up cutting mine with a hacksaw and cleaning up the cuts with a razor knife. For reference, these pics are in a HF 44" box. I think I roughly measured the length to be 16.5". I ended up needing to cut the last 3 teeth off of each rail to fit front to back in my box. My Standard wrenches go up to 1-1/4" and my metrics go up to 32mm.

Metric (Easco standard & Proto spline ratchet) The little wrenches are on the cut off pieces from the SAE rails:

Just went and looked at them in the store (they're on the same shelf as all the socket trays/rails). Look to be decent quality. They're set up to go from large to small, unlike the Snap On rails that are all the same size. The large end seemed really tall (probably too tall with wrenches for me to put in the middle drawer of my cart, where my current rails are).

Looks like the Lowes ones angle one way and a different set angles the same way. Unlike Ernst space saves that angle the opposite ways though?

Lowe's only offers the one direction from what I saw. This was a non-issue for me, but is an important factor for many people.

My Easco 32mm fit and they are really similar to raised panels.....it was tight, but it fit. I don't know the depth of the HF 44" drawers, but I imagine they are about that deep. Worst case scenario, you do some trimming or return them.

Thank you. That is important to me. My wrench drawers are 37" across by 19.5 deep. To get them all organized nice would require flip flopping them.

Nothing found in my area. Did a search on the site, and it says there are no matches. Good find if you can find them in a store near you.

I have some of the Snap On version that are plastic that I bought 25 yrs ago. I want some more just like them. They are the same size from one end to the other, they work good for me. So is Snap On the only version like this? I don't work where a truck comes by any more so can I buy them off Snap On web site?

Snappy does sell them on the website, took me a minute to find a part #
I use up to 1-1/8" in these (and only have the 1-1/2" behind because I ran out of slots):

The part number is indeed DWO2B. I don't have any comparison to the Ernst rails. But these truly do hold the wrenches more vertical than some other pictures I have seen.

Picked a couple pair up last week after seeing this. I like them, saves space over racks I was using.
