Still cleaning stuff, got one more day of it. A while back I did some rust repair on the roadster and when I ground of the old paint and some filler the heater fans picked it up and blew it every where, I need some kind of dust and smoke snarfing machine.

What a week! I finished up my first ever custom Dodge Diesel valve cover Friday night ... he wanted "a stock look with a little flash" so we went with Alien Silver, Wetstone Black and Flame Red. The 'fine print' on the right side is usually black but he wanted it to show up better.

Wednesday night saw this cool old Edelbrock CH-28 big block Mopar dual quad finished up in Clear Vision over Heavy Silver -- check out the close up of that metal flake ... blue, green, purple and silver in there. Until then I'd only seen it on steel but it's truly stunning on aluminum.

In the meantime, I've been polishing on some sweet Viper coil covers for a new customer in Kentucky ... no progress pics to share yet but this is what I started with. I'm waiting on a special order powder but they'll be black-bodied with candy red lettering when they're done; with the polishing under it VIPER will look like a red mirror.

Fitted some new power sockets over by the pillar drill to save running a cord every time.
Cleared out alot of junk tools into an old cantilever toolbox and made room in my box for my new stuff i got yesterday and assembled my new wheels onto my time trial bike for the season - 82mm carbon deeps if it means anything to anyone on here
Then my buddy came round and we redid his polos exhaust - the clamps were marginally too big and it was blowing so we modified em with a grinder , a tuna tin and some hylomar and fixed his sticky front door that was stuck shut.
We also got the tape out and measured up for a potential new shop in the back garden- it could be bigger than i thought without using all the space , lets hope planning are kind and the neighbours doing give a hoot

Re-arranged a couple of drawers to make it more logical and so I can store my latest aquisition
I am not generally a fan of Mastercraft ratchets, this is rather smooth.
Also got the ATV checked out for our annual torch ride next weekend. All gassed up, ready to ride.

Went to pick up my newest acquisition for the shop a Max oscillating spindle sander. Has three throat plates and only missing one size spindle. Other than a little little clean up it is in great shape.
Was able to tack and start to weld one of my new frames for my Rousseau drawer cabinets.

Helped a buddy press an old pinion/new pinion back in with the press. Welded up a set of imitation vise grips.

This weekend we sanded drywall, remudded drywall, installed hard-wired, interconnected heat detectors and tied them into the main house alarms via wireless smoke detector upstairs, assembled two steel shelving units and a steel cabinet, rewired the garage lights into two zones and two switches, cleaned out a pile of cardboard from three weeks of unpacking new gear, and finally, worked with my son to build an 8-foot Lego table from scrap and leftover lumber. A full weekend!

Pulled some heads out of the parts cleaner, Chevy double hump. Also started tearing down the front suspension on the project car, got to strip the frame to send it off to sandblasting.

Nothing. Between getting up at 5 am to watch Canada win gold - and many nights of no sleep (due to a sick kid) - I spent the day on the couch, drifting in and out of consciousness.....

That's not always wasted time.
I was able to finish the majority of my attic storage.
500 square feet of lovely wafer board.
Also installed a fan to evacuate welding fumes when the door is closed.

About a mouth ago I got the wheels power coat, last Tuesday I got the tires
from Coker so Saturday I got them mounted . Got to drive it for the first time . Had to adjust the clutch and the brakes. And changed the thermostat
had the wrong one in it 195* not 180 .

Made a trio of jigs this weekend. Mortising jig which I posted in here yesterday, Straight line/taper jig, and router dadoing jig. Still got a few more jigs to make before I want to start on the next furniture project.

Oh wow, OtherChris reminded me of another recently finished PSC project ... the customer forwarded a pic of it now ready for the track! It's my second BMX frame and it was some of the finest aluminum I've ever fondled. The Supercross frame is Psycho Yellow over Kiwi Green and the Maxxis rims, levers and hardware are coated in Orange Soda. His supplier did a great job custom-matching the decals to my powder colors.

Wow! My son in law rebuilds classic BMX bikes as a hobby and resells them. I'll pass on your info, as he has had mixed results with our local coaters.
Over the weekend:
Tubes in the rear mower tires (used recently acquired HF tire changer)
New rear tire on the zx-10 (HF tire changer)
blades on the mower
Acquired 2 Honda engines to come up with enough parts to fix the civic and drive it till the blue supra goes back together.

Welp I decided to built a small ramp for my shed in the back yard.
I really wish I had the proper tool for wood working such as a band saw, and table saw.... I had to use a handheld circular saw (battery powered ) and thought it came out nice, I have to shim about a half inch as I think the wood boards pulled up on once side... Shouldn't be an issue once on the ground I can just build up the ground some...
But I saw something similar online for $180 plus shipping and said damn that is expensive... Found a couple youtube videos and then said might as well freaking try making one.
I paid $21 for the pressure treated lumber and the previous owner had left two cans of stain at the house thinking that would be enough for the deck and fence... ROFL (I ended up using 16 gallon cans for all that last summer, what fun!)..lol So in that sense I got free stain out of it and with a couple hours worth of work seems to be a pretty solid little piece.
I don't have any progress pictures, but here are two of half way staining and fully stained.
I need to do another coat of stain tonight, then it will be ready to put on the shed this weekend. It's only 5" high and about 30" in length. Total width is 64". I'm happy with how it turned out.

You don't really need fancy tools - I've done 99% of my wood projects with a circular saw - including ripping 2x4's into 1x1's to frame lattice for the deck!

Yeah, well you are E-tek. We wouldnt expect any less from you. But us mortals need the fancy tools to do it right...ish.

WOW...close call indeed. I did something like that once and sat a shop light on a moving blanket I was using for a fender cover. I don't use that shop light anymore.Cooked the back seat of the 911, very well done.
I was working on the pedals and the shop light fell on the backseat without me knowing it. I left for the hardware store. Somebody in the house smelled smoke!:

I was in a Battery Plus today and they had a 60w LED light buld ($6) and I noticed it did not give off any heat at all. I'm thinking about switching to it.

Installed my "snow blower impeller kit" & took the machine out for a test run. Considering the way it performed with the semi frozen state of the snow, I think it's going to make a big difference when I have to move heavy wet snow or slush. I can see why so many people like this modification.
