That Milwaukee..

Killer deal there!!! I have the fuel but that other impact is what I want!

Actually, I just realized the impact wasn't the fuel version like the one I have..still...awesome price for the set. I have the same stuff but the fuel kit came with a free reciprocating saw..then got the bare tool for the fuel impact.

Wish I had a Menards near me. Those look exactly like my Allen brand USA stuff. Gonna have to check it out. Is there a manufacturer on it?

On the packaging, it doesn't give a manufacturer. However, it's been discussed on this forum before that much of the Masterforce stuff is Allen brand. The 1/4" and 1/2" breaker bars are still branded as Allen, though the 3/8" is branded as masterforce.

I am curious about whether there are different manufacturers for the hex bit sockets sold in the sets (non chrome) and the individual hex bit sockets they sell (chrome).

You mean S80A. Only the 1/2 drive ratchets had the problem with screws coming loose.

Early 80s had the USA on the head, then no USA, now it's on the handle.

I've wondered why the 1/2" ratchets have the screws on the outside! The screws on my FLF80 come loose too, I still need to put some thread locker on them.

Yeah I like it, it's just temporary until I can afford an MG725. The trigger pull is WAYY to heavy on this though.

I like my MG725 but its noisy and thirsty for air compared to the IR2135qti that I got for the shop which is a little cheaper to begin with. I absolutely hate how Snap-On's adjust the level. That thing is a PITA to turn with bare fingers let alone gloves.

I have had the M18 Fuel big 1/2" impact for a few weeks now and when it can't do something I grab the MG725 thinking it will but have yet to come across something it would do that the cordless one wont. I know I should at some point but haven't. The MG725 does seem to have a touch more power than the IR though. The MG725 spins stuff off a lot faster than both the cordless and the IR but I actually don't like that. With a torque stick or extension it shakes the **** outta your wrist and it also likes to throw swivel sockets or nut's and bolts in the swivel sockets across the shop.

I like the gun, but it's not one of my "wow" tools like it was when I got it three years ago. Time for Snap-On to set the bar a little higher maybe, or maybe they plan to stick that time and money into cordless. I would much rather hold the MG725 all day as its much lighter and less clumsy, but I like not having to worry about an air hose and since I do a lot of work outside the shop too and in the field but with no service truck, the cordless is very handy.

You have the fuel but want the non fuel version?

Good haul and all USA.
No Menards around me.

You aren't missing much. I have three within 20 minutes of me and I quit going there for most stuff and go to Home Depot now. Menards has gotten to the point they are like Harbor Freight meaning almost everything they sell is one of their multiple different "house" brands although they don't advertise them as that. Sure enough of it is "USA" but its very low quality it seems. They still carry some name brands of some items, but not a lot. We redid our kitchen recently and I went there to get a sink and faucet, they carry some name brands but a lot of it is actually built to their specs and you can't get it elseware. I ended up going to Home Depot and the selection of faucets was huge and much better. I don't even try to get tools at Menards, the masterforce stuff is good but the few name brands they do carry tend to be a bit misleading as they always have the cheapest lowest quality versions of the tools.

Do you think the non fuel version has enough power?

My friend has an MG725, while i have a 2135QTIMAX. While the Snap-on is marginally more powerful (When the compressor is totally full) i find it's nose-heavy, noisy, has awful direction switch, etc. Not a fan of it at all. Another friend i used to work with had one, and kept telling me how much better it was than my IR, but it went in for warranty repair twice in the 14 months i worked with him. My IR is now 7 years old and not a single problem.

Do you prefer the MG725 over the 2135?

Ha, great timing. I just bought a MG325 this week to take wheels off and cover for my 2135timax while I get it fixed again. I love that IR gun for 1/2" applications and I'll use it anyday over a MG725 but on that same token I feel like the MG325 smacks the pants off the 2115timax gun.

I almost feel like in snap ons mind they figured if you can't get it loose with their 3/8ths gun, you've probably got enough space for their giant *** 1/2 inch gun to fit. This thing pulls lug nuts with what feels to be the same force as my timax does :eyecrazy:

I haven't tried an MG325, but i do have a 2115. I'm really impressed with the power of the 2115, being that it's a very small and light gun.

Milwaukee vs ct7850.I really can't say til Monday when I try it on some big stuff at work.I did try it on a few lug nuts and it had no problem at all.only thing I think I'll miss is the clutched drive .one thing snappy didn't do was sling extensions and wobbles across the shop.I build oilfield equipment not automotive so we will see if it can break and tighten up to 1 inch bolts.can't wait to see how big a bolt it can shear.

I saw that deal and was thinking on getting the sae swivels let me know how you like them. 19.99 is a killer deal for something I wont use too often.

For $20 you can't go wrong. Whole set for $40! For that price and lifetime warranty I can't justify spending $150 on the tool truck for sunex!

Also the ratchet set is 12 point which I don't have any of so made sense to me!

I just bought a Snap-on set off eBay, 10-19mm missing the 16mm for £106. (New.)

The 16mm and 21mm cost ~£35 each. :(

How do you like those Snap-on air hammer bits? My dealer has a set on his truck and they're really tempting.

Love em. I've cut through some pretty tough metal with them, and they're amazing. Literally, they don't show any wear after I had to remove a bolt and then use the hammer to knock out a pin.
I got a good deal on mine. 149 bucks, normally 249

Thanks! I might look into getting a set then. I have some Ingersoll-Rand ones but they're quite soft. The chisels go blunt in no time.

There's an eBay seller here with a set for £85, i might add that to the nation deficit. :)

That's a good deal! I've used the IR sets, and I can honestly say (no SO Kool-aid talking) that this set is much much harder and better made.
And I'm pretty sure it's got a lifetime warranty.

For what its worth Snap-On doesnt make their air hammer bits, they're manufactured for them by Ajax (with the addition of an anti-corrosion plating). If you have a retailer that carries Ajax you'll probably be able to save a good amount of money.

The snap-on bits are some if the best on the market. They are coated so they dont rust like the rest. They are harder so they dont dull as fast as many of the others do. Also they are lifetime warrenteed and i use the warrentee alot so mine have paid for their premium price just in replacements alone.

If I had to pick one to buy new today I'd buy the IR. I don't hate my MG725 to the point that I'd sell it and buy an IR though. Maybe if I used it more, but now I stick to cordless as much as I can.

Then again, Diesel River is close to me and if he showed up with a new IR i'd gladly trade the MG725.

I work on heavy equipment and the Fuel version has been pretty impressive. I think if I worked in an auto shop it would almost be a waste as the 3/8 can do most of the stuff and is a lot handier.

Lifetime warranty is awesome. I didn't believe it at first until my guy said to not be afraid to sharpen the chisel as needed then when nothing was left I could warranty it. Well I used it to cut the heads off concrete anchors when we were putting new mattresses in one of our freestalls and that ate most of it up. Working on abrasive sand all day did not help it, but it was a champ.

Not in the long run if you use them a lot. Lifetime warranty on a high wear item like those is well worth it. I'm the furthest from wearing snappy undies but the bits are a killer deal.

That's the only one my set skipped. I've never missed it. What do you use it for (just curious and looking for an excuse to buy one!).

Haha I have never needed one either but I have heard that 20mm is used on gm fuel filters. I am going to need one sooner or later
I actually don't own a 16mm or 9mm wrench either but for 16 I usually use a 5/8" wrench. I will eventually own a 16mm aswell as that is just the OCD in me!

Just picked this up on Friday from my snap on truck.

I just bought one of those 3 weeks ago and absolutely love it. Couldn't be more impressed with the power. I've used it for lug nuts, tie rod ends, ball joints, I even took off a 36mm axle nut off on an 02 Trailblazer.
