Re: Unisaw in Chicago South Subs---$250

I would have expected the power plug/cord to be a bit beefier, though it is tough to tell for sure from pic if power cord/plug is 50A 220V capable. 11HP at 100% efficiency is ~8200W and accounting for losses the power would be closer to ~11000W which is 50A at 220V.

So when it catches a knot, not only can it launch the wood, but if it gets caught against something, you can catapult the table saw itself. Think of it as a feature, not a liability. :)

Vice for $20. Anybody know anything about this one? I've never seen one like this.

Is it just me, or does this look like the makings for an awesome Tube Notcher?

A super cool (IMHO) SK top bottom tool box for $100.

Exactly what I thought. Or some other type of fabricating jig.

There is no way to run an 11 HP motor on single phase power. Maybe it is 1.1 hp....

You must have missed the memo, they have out engineered physics. Did you not see the craftsman 11hp 110v 20gal air compressor?

Ok Chi-town, someone please grab this because I have a terrible time resisting $10 vintage power tools.

It's a Double A Products builders saw w/ a craftsman badge. They were made to be used as a a table saw or a radial arm saw. I would have grabbed it already except I don't need another saw with no tilting arbor.

Interesting TIG welder in SF Bay Area. Not sure if anyone could use? $200.

Tig Welder, Bench Model - $200 (fremont / union city / newark)

That's an absolute score/steal for someone. The chuck alone can probably be sold for more, not to mention the the microscope and all the tooling and jig material.

Here's a video of it in action, this thing is worth way more:

Let's hope a local GJ member gets it...and remembers to post pics

I just been struggling with this. The more I look into it, the more i want it but I think there's a mis-print because these sell for $20k-$30,000

Too bad it's just a tad too far and currently have other projects and space to deal with.

I wouldn't be surprised if the welder portion is shot but the tooling/lathe portion is awesome and has lots of other uses. Still can't figure out if it's a horizontal lathe being stood on one side or it's a vertical lathe.

I wish I was closer.
