Great looking Parker. I have to ask the paint questions. What brand, what color, primer, no primer? Nice job.![]()
This should answer all your questions.

Went to roughly 100 garage sales last Friday---it was the annual neighborhood sale and 200 houses signed up for it. Got a load of stuff, including a Fender USA Jazz Bass, but nothing in the way of tools and it was getting late.
Saw this little guy and bought it mainly to fill that hunger. Have no idea who made it, but I'm old and this vise is probably TWICE my age. Any ideas??
Well, I mocked everything up this morning to make sure everything is smooth, I can move the jaw with just my pinky and that's with zero grease anywhere.

Andrews big Parker is a hard act to follow but I'll throw mine in anyway. I haven't painted anything with winkle paint but a steering collar for one of my Pontiacs. It was in the paint cabinet so I gave it a try. The little Rock Island cleaned up and came out OK

Picked this up tonight at a sale for $20. I don't know to much about this Wilton so any information would be appreciated. I took a photo of the serial number if that helps.

casting part number, not serial number, date code on bottom of slide indicating when warranty ran out.

Man, I love this thread. I can't find ANYTHING locally for the past several months that I have been looking. Everything on EBAY seems to be generally well overpriced, based on the prices I see discussed here.

good score on the vise i don't have photo bucket or no way to draw a circle and point with an arrow but on the pic you took the close up of it looks like there might be a crack in the rear stationary jaw right under the serrated jaw maybe someone else can see it also hopefully i am wrong
This is the only number on the bottom of the slide.
why is it that i have so much trouble getting dayids vise info to load?

Patience bud, all it is. Check CL religiously (seriously, like several dozen times a day...) Garage sales, auctions, etc can all be great places. I've had the most luck at garage sales, personally.
I've gone weeks and weeks without finding a single vise for sale locally that was worth of damn. And I've thrown two vintage big vises on the bench in the back of the truck within a few minutes of each other, hitting some yard sales. A 5" Reed and a 6" Parker, paid $40 for one and $39 for the other lol.
Point is, take your time, keep saving up for when the big score chance comes along, and than strike when the time is right.
I believe that means it's pre 1972.
