I prepped the brake rotors and pads for replacement, again, on my wife's Rogue!

I didn't do this last time and the rotor hats rusted making it ugly. So ugly my wife even noticed.

I relocated this Miller neon. Made a shelf for it to sit on.
I have to tidy up a bit, but it comes with moving things!

after moving into new house and garage, was finally able to put some time into organizing today.

24wx36d, still need to finish second part if bench, decide on a bench top, and add storage under it. just this made a huge difference and has reminded me there IS a floor under all this stuff.

Ahh....the best of plans.

Decided to do spring maintenance on the riding mower. Service the motor and sharpen the blades. Put it up on ramps and jack stands to make it easier. Serviced the motor and crawled under to remove the blades. Noticed the belt had seen better days. Decide to remove the belt. Hhmmm...the bearings don't feel good in the mower deck. Remove mower deck. Yep, 3 out of 5 pulleys need bearings. Crawl back under there to view the bottom side of the tractor. Hhmmmm, that drive belt looks as bad as the mower belt. Start removing drive belt. To get drive belt out must remove part of steering system and numerous other brackets belt snakes through and around.

So, at this point, 4 pulleys, 2 belts and a lot of parts scattered around the shop floor.

Ugh! All for spring maintenance.

Came home from work, changed the front shocks in my MB W123 Wagon, after that I got the small car from my neighbor in front of the garage to change the winter to the summer tires. She´s 85 and drives to church every week...I have to do an oil change to it too, all yellow goo at the oil filler cap.

Needless to say, her son in law lives in town, is unemployed and doesn´t change her tires or other stuff for her. Her 3 sons live a bit farther away, but they could take the car to do that kind of work. Two of them have their own used car business with shop. But I say screw it, I´ll do it for her. She always checked for my mother when she had cancer...

Cut a piece of glass, literally the last but one piece of glass to go in my new to me greenhouse, I had fitted everything else, just pretty much in the order it came out of the pile in the shed, fitted the two new pieces I had to buy, got the last full sized piece before the last little triangle and ****** me it was an inch too wide, every other piece was 2 x 1 1/2 feet and this was 2 x 19 inches. I had to dig out the little glass cutter from an old toolbox, score it and try and snap the inch off. It was a bit ragged but meh, it does the job and its recessed into the frame so its no danger. It was an old piece of horticultural glass thats very thin and quite brittle so tbh I was lucky it stayed in one piece. Bonus was I didn't cut myself either!

Completed the first job in my new (in progress) garage. Replaced the muffler on my 2003 Accura. Saved almost $200 from what the muffler shop wanted and it took me less than an hour including time to cool the attaching bolts. Only problem is I got some drips on my new concrete floor from the rustproofing I had done yesterday.:(

Not mine, but a friends:

I changed his tires from Anakee II to Anakee III, added an Odyssey PC535, installed a bracket for his tank bag and fuse box and installed bar risers in his triple black 2012 GS.

I also helped another friend install a tail rack and LED lights on his SuperSherpa.

I know what you mean, It shows you care and have a heart. I used to take care of certain things around the house for my old neighbor and his wife, who have now passed away. Change light bulbs, take out branches, and large trash. During the hurricane Wilma I got them food, Ice and fuel for two weeks, since I'm a cop I can get it easier then most. They were in my house on thanksgiving Christmas new years. Their kids lived in NJ and barley came down to see them, that is until they died now she cleaned there bank accounts and sold the house, scum bag.

I never asked for anything in return, but one day I walk into my garage and he left me all his rifles and guns, I said no I can't take them, he told me "go **** yourself they are yours". Every time I hold one of his rifles I think of them both. Just keep doing what you do Benzlover I bet she appreciates it:thumbup:

No pics yet (I was hungry and tired), but I got the wood cut tonight for my new-to-me 8x5x2 shop shelves. Yayyyyyyyyy, I've got serious storage now! << happy dance >>

View attachment 339422

Any input or opinions about mounting pegboard doors to this setup? I own a powder coating shop and am constantly fighting dust. I'm going to use the shelving to store all of my jigs (previously on a rather cheesy wire shelf), customers' parts in line, and perhaps some chemicals.

My work bench is also kind of short and, as you can see, though this pic is from 2012 (so it's even more crowded now) my handy space is rather limited there on the right.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. :D

I think that I'd start off with putting the wood shelves in and close in the ends with plywood and self tapping sheet metal screws.

For the doors I'm guessing that you want ones that swing from the left and right. It should be fairly easy to attach a piece of wood to the un-used adjustment holes (I would use carriage bolts and washers) and then hang the door from that. It might look a little bit strange but it would work.

I had this thread http://garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=181080 in my subscribed threads. There are some racks similar to yours in there that the owner enclosed.

I hope that it helps.

rusty1, That looks like a great project! I like the looks of the Studebaker.

Today was a busy day in the shop, filled a new battery with acid and charged it for the White Outdoor lawn tractor, measured up the rear wheel on the lawn tractor, need to make a puller to pull a stuck wheel from the rear axle shaft.

Rotated the tires on the 3500 Dodge, checked the brakes and u-joints. Calipers are sticking, pads worn down and brake hoses need replacing. Time for a parts list. Looked into how to change the trans cooler lines without removing a fender, they are hidden by the starter, PS pump, engine mount and battery box. Seems to be able to drop the plastic fender liner to get at them under the wheel arch.

Cleaned out the sprint car push truck, racing season starts tomorrow!

mdbeck, Thank You! I've still got ideas floating around in my head but this is pretty much where it was heading. I really appreciate your input. < hug >
